We ate beautifully and played bocce.
The sliced cheek steak was good and plentiful (like the other dishes).

On the right of the road leading to the Pino Tunnel, at the first bend, is the Bocciofila di Sassi. Shaded by some tall trees, which provide shade and coolness even on the hottest days, at the end, beyond the once-bustling bocce courts, lies this restaurant.
The sign is barely visible from the road, but in the spacious dining room on the first floor of the building, Irene and Mary welcome you with classic Piedmontese specialties.
The atmosphere is spartan but welcoming and clean, and the service is essential, fast, and friendly.
Both lunchtime and evening meals are available: a first course, a second course with side dish, and dessert, all at relatively low prices.
The quality and authenticity of the food reflects home-style cooking, simple and essential.
I recently had the opportunity to appreciate this restaurant during a convivial dinner organized by the Turin branch of the National Association of the Granatieri di Sardegna.
It's easy to find parking on the main road, but it's a little harder to climb the external stairs that lead to the premises.

Old world restaurant, nice welcome, good service. They only speak Italian, which is not a criticism, just be prepared to translate menu with your phone. The 3 courses were excellent, only criticism is that there was no vegetables in three dishes, all meat based. Really nice people.

I already knew the place and it's interesting even if at first glance it seems an inhospitable place. The entrance is dark, I had a hard time telling if it was open or closed, and access is via a steep iron staircase with no signs in a dark courtyard that's truly uninviting. But once inside you feel a family welcome, a beautiful rustic atmosphere, and the food is a pleasant surprise: excellent appetizers that can be replicated if desired, delicious agnolotti, grilled braciole, good desserts, coffee, and amaro, all in abundance for only 30 euros. In short, take courage, overcome the darkness and you will be welcomed and pampered in a beautiful 70s-style setting.

A place that could do much better, even with that kind of shabby decor. Poor quality food, no bottles of wine, only cask wine. I don't recommend it.
