A simple café, with a welcoming owner and good local food – I loved it. Thank goodness places like this still exist.

Poor value for money for the average. Long wait. Short staff and rude. Bathroom not accessible to disabled guests.

Such a lovely location with a full view of the palazzo and a violinist playing, the atmosphere was breathtaking.
I’m travelling and don’t speak the language but Marco made me feel so comfortable and welcome.
It really made my night, thank you 😊

Of course it's very touristic, but the atmosphere and location are unique. It's definitely worth having a coffee and must try the tiramisu...

It's an experience. You can go in and have an espresso at the bar—it's not expensive—and see the inside. It attracted celebrities like Ava Gardner and Brigitte Bardot. Opposite it is the famous Bull of Turin. And it's also on the floor inside.

A very elegant, retro-style lounge bar (dating back to 1903). We had an aperitif with friends. It's certainly not a cheap place, but the atmosphere, the quality and variety of food, the service, and the overall setting more than justify the price.

Anyone who truly wants to experience Turin's café culture – not as a tourist trap, but as a living piece of history – will find themselves in the perfect spot at Caffè Torino. This isn't a trendy coffee shop trying too hard to look old. It's simply old, authentic, and iconic – with that unmistakable Italian charm that instantly transports you to another era. Even the entrance in the elegant Piazza San Carlo feels like the opening to a film: arcades, lights, the bustling city life – and inside, that warm, classic ambiance that's so rare these days.
Inside, you're greeted by an atmosphere that's hard to describe without sounding kitschy: red, patterned tablecloths, delicate porcelain cups, subdued lighting, chandeliers, and that typical hum of a café that's been around for decades. People are everywhere – locals, regulars, travelers – and yet it doesn't feel hectic, but rather like a ritualized daily routine: you come in, order, drink, observe, and end up staying a little longer than planned. This is exactly what a real Italian café should be like.
I had a cappuccino here – and it was simply quintessentially Italian and truly excellent: strong espresso as a base, perfectly frothed milk, harmoniously balanced, not overly milky, and not bitter. Not a "coffee-to-go" drink, but a cappuccino as it should be in Italy: short, well-rounded, and aromatic. The cup alone is an experience – classic porcelain with a logo that makes you feel like you're part of a tradition. A glass of water is served at the table, as is customary, and you immediately realize: here, coffee is taken seriously, without making a big fuss about it.
Another positive aspect is the Italian-style service. This means: professional, efficient, sometimes with that charming directness that some interpret as "strict" – I find it more efficient and authentic. Despite the large number of customers, the process remains structured: order, brief eye contact, done – and yet you don't feel like just a number. You get the feeling you're sitting in a place that knows what it's doing. And that's precisely what makes it so pleasant.
Another point: Caffè Torino is a place for observing and enjoying. You sit there, sip your cappuccino, watch the elegant clientele, the waiters moving between the tables, the light refracting in glasses and mirrors – and suddenly it's more than just coffee. It's a little piece of Turin served in a cup. Anyone who loves atmosphere will be happy here – not because everything is perfectly polished, but because it has character.
In short: Caffè Torino might not be the café for someone seeking absolute peace and quiet or into "Third Wave Coffee" experiments. But anyone who wants to experience Italian coffeehouse culture – with tradition, style, real life, and a truly excellent cappuccino – should definitely stop by. For me, it was a highlight: the coffee, the ambiance, and that feeling of experiencing a moment that you can only get in Italy.
Conclusion: A cult, classic Turin café with genuine flair, very good Italian coffee, and an atmosphere that cannot be replicated – you have to experience it.

In the elegant heart of Turin, just steps from the most charming streets of the historic center, I discovered Caffè Torino, a place that perfectly embodies the city's refined and welcoming spirit. As soon as I entered, I was struck by the old-world atmosphere: elegant furnishings, Art Nouveau details, and a harmonious blend of soft lighting that make the space warm and relaxing.
Sitting here isn't just a break, but a true Turin experience. The service is impeccable, attentive, and friendly, making you feel immediately at ease. I enjoyed a simply perfect espresso, accompanied by a selection of truly delicious traditional Piedmontese pastries. The bicerin, in particular, was a pleasant discovery: a rich and enveloping combination that I absolutely recommend.
The location is ideal for those visiting Turin: located in Piazza San Carlo, it allows you to enjoy one of the most beautiful lounges in Italy while sipping something delicious. Sitting at the outdoor tables, I was able to observe the elegant comings and goings of the city, including tourists and Turinese, absorbing an authentic and timeless atmosphere.
Caffè Torino isn't just a bar, it's an institution, a small historic gem where tradition and quality meet. I highly recommend a stop here to anyone who wants to experience Turin with taste and style, captivated by its unmistakable elegance.

An old-fashioned café in the city center. It's very beautiful, a café with a vintage feel. But I was a little disappointed with the coffee; mine was cold, and my friend's hot chocolate was too. However, the macaron we ordered was excellent. It's also expensive; it's like having a coffee on the Champs-Élysées.
