Da Franco In Milano

Recommended to this place by a friend of ours who live in Milan, turned out to be the best dinner we had in the city. This small Pugliese restaurant has everything a perfect restaurant has to offer, amazing food, great non pretentious atmosphere, great wine and friendly staff and owner. We had both grilled seafood, Melanzane, Scallopini di Porcini—and they were to die for. The fava beans and spinach side was unexpectedly delicious—and arguably the star of the meal. I almost don’t want to give them this good review because im afraid i will ruin this gem with crowd! But definitely going to back whenever we’re in Milan! 🫶🏼

I've been frequenting this trattoria for over 30 years now, and the food has never failed. The food is always excellent, with home-made quality for all the delicacies of Apulian cuisine. Franco is a friendly and attentive host, so much so that even foreign customers appreciate him despite not speaking a word of English... a sign he knows his stuff!

I was surprised to find such a wonderful restaurant so close to the hotel. It's a casual yet cozy trattoria. I highly recommend it if you're in the area!

Excellent, but above all, make sure it's open, not closed!

I stopped by this restaurant while staying at the AC Hotel Milano. It's a little far from the center of Milan and the central station, so it seemed to be mostly frequented by locals and was quite lively. The prices, including the wine, were reasonable, and the food was of good quality and quantity, so my college-aged child was very satisfied. (Note: The portions of pasta seem quite large compared to restaurants in Japan.) The male staff were also very friendly and helpful, so I recommend this restaurant if you're staying nearby.

Franco is a legend! His years of experience are evident! The food is plentiful and cheerful, with typical Apulian dishes and even pizza! It's a shame the place is so small; going as a group requires a bit of planning, but it's worth it!

We're very happy to have chosen this restaurant for pasta. We ordered gnocchi, spaghetti carbonara, and pizza margherita. Everything was delicious and the portions were generous. The service was very friendly and attentive, and they even ordered us a taxi. This is definitely a highly recommended place for homemade pasta. Unbeatable value for money.

The food is great and cheap, everything is delicious

Franco è un oste di altri tempi. Ti accoglie con il sorriso, una battuta e ti consiglia le sue specialità. L' intero locale ha un' atmosfera intima e autentica. In una Milano in cui ogni locale diventa in breve tempo fighetto, la trattoria di Franco è rimasta semplice dal clima famigliare. Piatti abbondanti e buonissimi: si sente la qualità dei prodotti e la cura nel cucinarli. Giusto rapporto qualità prezzo considerando la zona in cui si trova. Ci ritorneremo!!!

Da Franco? No, da provare. Non è una trattoria, è un piacevole ristorante d’altri tempi. Voti da 1 a 10: 9 per il locale. Accogliente, con una sala che ospita circa una trentina di coperti. Arredamento semplice e gradevole, boiserie e pareti gialle, soffitto bianco sopra delle travi a vista. Per me è bellissimo. 7 per il cibo. Orecchiette con le cime di rapa, buone e abbondanti (un po’ poche le cime…), polpette al sugo gradevoli, mentre il tiramisù non mi ha entusiasmato. 9 per il servizio. Veloce e molto cordiale. Il signor Franco è parecchio simpatico, sa mettere a proprio agio il cliente e crea da subito una confidenza senza scadere in eccessi di nessun tipo. Il cameriere è stato gentilissimo. Unica nota negativa è che il cameriere lasciava una forte scia di profumo. In questo si potrebbe moderare. Ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo. Primo, secondo, mezza d’acqua in vetro, dolce caffè e coperto, il tutto per €39,00. Onesti. Ci tornerei? Sì Lo consiglierei? Sì.
