It's hard to get a seat. We were lucky to manage to eat there (given the crowds waiting outside), so not in the restaurant but outside in their small covered area with a view of the Pantheon. This restaurant had been recommended to us for its spaghetti carbonara, so we had to try it. Excellent!

It was May 1 labour day and I did not realized that there was no bus running in the area that I was staying, I ended up being 30 minutes late, they were still accommodating me no problem. The atmosphere at this restaurant made me feel so comfortable. I loved rather classic decor. We ordered 1 daily special, oxtail gnocchi & saltimboca for lunch. They devided both of them into seperate plates and served. Really loved their gnocchi that had a very bouncy texture. Saltimboca was excellent. Also I was happy with recommend wine. It paired well with my lunch

The Rigattone alla Amatriciana is divine. The Carbonara is also very good, but the Pasta alla Gricia takes second place, spectacular. A great place to eat in Rome, but it's best to make a reservation or arrive, as we did, a little before 7 p.m. and get one of the first in line without a reservation. The service is also very friendly.

Si mangia bene da Armando al pantheon. Una cucina romana ben presentata e in linea con la tradizione. Da assaggiare la carbonara, minestra della suocera, abbacchio, coda vaccinara, trippa, faraona con i contorni di carciofi. Buona la varietà di cioccolato Da bere un cesarese Franco. Il locale è accogliente, anche se non molto caratteristico. Personale garbato e gentile. Prezzi un po' alti, ma ne vale la pena. e poi..... All'uscita vi attende il Pantheon e una magia unica... Una meraviglia

Vinimos por los rigatoni all’amatriciana y no nos decepcionó. Vaya. Fue fantástico. Reservamos con mucha antelación y estamos muy contentos de haberlo hecho. Servicio de bienvenida amable. Si tienes la oportunidad de ir aquí, aprovéchalo. Llevamos 29 años viniendo a Roma y esta pasta nos dejó boquiabiertos. Volveremos.

I went to college in Rome during my junior year in college (1979). We ate lunch here almost every day. Mama and Papa worked in the kitchen, and the two brothers worked as waiters. Same family, and the two brothers are now 50 somethings running the place. Has continued with its family atmosphere and reliable food since then. I have been there at least 20 times in the last 30 years, and they still recognize us. Get here early for lunch, as the working class eats here daily because the food is good and reasonably priced. Hint: Spaghetti Carbonara here is the best in Rome, and the house white wine is made from grapes from their own vineyards.

10/05/2025: We were in Rome for the tennis internationals and had dinner 2 evenings in a row in this restaurant. On the first evening we both literally "devoured" the spaghetti carbonara, a starter of cured meats and 2 desserts, a tart and a trifle. What can I say... everything was really good in a family atmosphere but still sophisticated and classy compared to all the other places we saw in the Trastevere area. The second evening tonnarelli cacio e pepe with shrimp and courgettes (delicious) Fisherman's risotto (excellent) and beef steak with baked potatoes (meat cooked rare, on specific request, of excellent quality), tiramisu and limoncello cake. Absolutely honest prices compared to the quality of the food and the service (if we then compare them to the prices of Milan...) I absolutely recommend stopping by Ripa 12 to taste the most typical foods of Roman cuisine (carbonara, anatriciana, Coda alla Vaccinara, lamb, cacio e pepe...etc) in an excellent, quiet atmosphere and with friendly staff.
05/05/2025: We were here three times, great food, lots of exceptional fish dishes on offer, quiet ambience, nice service, fair prices.
