I was looking for a place to try trippa alla Romana and decided to chance a walk in - got lucky and managed to get a table. Armando has the rare quality of attracting regular local patrons and also those brought in by travel influencer hype- it deserves every bit of that praise. My trippa and salad were superb, service was attentive and prompt. Will definitely love to be back!

I return after eight years and find the quality always very high, kindness and impeccable service, very clean toilets, normal prices. A place that in the heart of
Tourism has not become "touristized", but remains Roman of quality. Truly recommended. Kindness and quality must always be rewarded.

Good but forgettable amatriciana. Wouldn’t mind coming back but also wouldn’t feel compelled to return.

This is a fantastic Italian restaurant serving authentic, traditional dishes. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it a perfect spot to enjoy a meal. However, be prepared to wait a little as the place is quite popular—but it’s absolutely worth it!

The food was tasty but a lot of fat on the lamb. Dinner with two bottles of wine was 197 Euro. Should have chose cheaper wine.lol wine was tasty food was okay above average. Don't get the lamb unless you like fat. I had some kind of beef roll-up and ham. It was only 19 euro. I like the potatoes better than the meat. You have to get there at 7:00 if you don't have reservations and if you're lucky they'll have some open tables. Whole thing you have to jump through some hoops to get dinner. Thought it was tasty but I wouldn't go back there very often if I lived here. This is a four times a year kind of place. Portions for the appetizers were extremely small and the tiramisu is also small and not the most delicious I'd ever had.

First things first, make a reservation. Seats are coveted here and you must reserve far in advance. Or, wait at the door for a no show. Next, it is worth it worth it worth it. The food is incredible, perfectly done. The Roman artichoke was amazing with mozzarella. The pasta was almost too al dente but fantastic flavors. The meat was tender and so flavorful. Great wine choices and a few delicious desserts as well. Staff was super friendly and attentive. Priced fair for the experience and delicious food but also, prepare to pay. We highly recommend and we will definitely be back. And we appreciate the amazing flavors that came out of the kitchen.

I went to college in Rome during my junior year in college (1979). We ate lunch here almost every day. Mama and Papa worked in the kitchen, and the two brothers worked as waiters.
Same family, and the two brothers are now 50 somethings running the place. Has continued with its family atmosphere and reliable food since then. I have been there at least 20 times in the last 30 years, and they still recognize us.
Get here early for lunch, as the working class eats here daily because the food is good and reasonably priced.
Hint: Spaghetti Carbonara here is the best in Rome, and the house white wine is made from grapes from their own vineyards.

If you are looking at the Pantheon from the Piazza, go to the right and it's 3 or 4 doors down the side street there. Located right in the middle of it all, but tucked away enough that the locals really do go there. Serving delicious food, it is not a tourist trap in the least. Enjoyed the Roman pastas, lamb chops and oxtail smothered in ragu. Have visited this spot twice on different trips and would return. Reservations highly recommended.

We had an amazing lunch … been trying to get in as last trip to Rome we could not get in ! Very happy to experience what other guests have been talking about ! Service was good by front of house with recommendations for wine and food. The Amatriciana is the best in Rome ! The toasted bread with straciatella cheese and anchovies - divine and eggplant parmigiana excellent ! The saltimbicca Alla Roma was well seasoned and tender! The staff was kind to portion the meals to 2 plates as we were sharing .. can’t wait to come back next time we are in Rome !
