Da Alighiero In Anghiari

We had a fantastic evening at Da Alighiero. I don't know when I was last treated with such warmth and ease. There were seven of us (and two dogs, who were also very well looked after), and we were able to "cover" a wide selection of the menu. To sum it up: Everything was delicious, great products, and some dishes were a little off the beaten track. From the bean soup to the amazing homemade orecchiette, bisteca, pork fillet, and the final desserts. There was something for everyone, and even our children, who usually respond with "it's okay" when asked if something tastes good, were full of praise. Simply wonderful, well-crafted, creative dishes with no frills. The recommended wines (there's something for everyone there, too; there's no wine list, but the bottles are displayed in cabinets for you to view and choose from – a very nice idea) were such a good match that we were happy to buy a few more bottles. When do you ever get the chance to buy aged wines at a fair price?! We had a relaxed and enjoyable evening in a very pleasant atmosphere and would recommend everyone to see for themselves. The restaurant is definitely a highlight in our opinion.

We were here for the summer music festival and hadn’t made a booking but they fit us in and gave excellent service. The food was AMAZING and I have to give a shout out to the apple cake - it wasn’t even mine but I had to taste some and it was so tasty!

We arrived relatively late considering the restaurant's closing time, but Gianni immediately put us at ease with his warm welcome and the professionalism of someone who knows his craft. The place exudes a sense of family warmth mixed with old-world elegance, while Silvia's dishes delighted us from start to finish. A visit is highly recommended!

What a gem. We went twice on our week long trip. (The person who complained about the portion size is clearly not used to eating in Europe.) Homemade ravioli was delicious. The pasta with the chickpeas I was so surprised how much I loved it. And Da Alighiero was the best Florentine steak we had our entire trip. Random but the mashed potatoes were delicious. Silvia & Gianni went above and beyond for our baby - made her a heart shaped breadstick and gave her a balloon. Gianni knows his wine!!!
