Cunzatu e Mangiato In Zafferana etnea

Wandered into the most delightful restaurant. Got some amazing food and the best service as they served us in the rain. They made sure the food was covered and dry. The poor staff was not working through OttoBratta. We will be back.

We arrived late the first time we found ourselves in the square in Zafferana on a Saturday evening, even though it was almost closing time. We were kindly greeted and seated. The service was fast, the food excellent, and the pinsa and focaccia were fabulous. The staff was fantastic. Thank you. We'll definitely be back.

The pane cunzato was average, and the sandwich was good. We also ordered a portion of "sweet potatoes with mortadella." We actually expected to find whole stuffed potatoes, but instead they were sweet potato sticks with strips of salty mortadella. Both the look and the taste were unpleasant. Our drinks arrived promptly, but we had a really long wait for our food. Furthermore, despite there being four of us, the last of the four dishes arrived about a quarter of an hour after the first. The staff is friendly (which is why the service stars are up from 2 to 3). Good value for money. The atmosphere is pleasant, and it's located in the main square.

For two people. One 250g Cunzatu bread each. Delicious. A bottle of Etna red wine. Firriato Terre dell'Etna, €16. Good price, with a fair markup. The bottle was warm, but the waitress told us in advance that it was room temperature (i.e., warm 🤣😅) and that she would give us a cooler if necessary. Problem solved before it showed up! Great 🥳! Small tables, but once again, a different waitress than the previous one, seeing that we were "tight," found a solution. So, courteous and attentive service, good food, good value. Recommended. Worth a try. We didn't order any dessert. Price: €38.50.

Excellent location in the main square of Zafferana Etnea.... Varied and rich menu.... you're spoiled for choice.... In the end I had a "Monte Zoccolaro" pane cunzato and it was delicious!!! Try it and believe it!
