The place is amazing. The food is so good that I had to go in there multiple times. The service is like nothing I experienced in Italia. No nonsense, all common sense, and the people who run the place are very friendly and accommodating (something that I struggled throughout my stay in Italy). The lady, Monica, who is in charge, goes the extra mile to make you welcome and accommodating. All the food is traditional of the area and the taste is very, very good. Prices are affordable and very reasonable. Is located next to the waterfall, and the area all around is a pleasure to be. All in all, it is very recommended. For sure, I will be back as a happy customer 😀

First time in this crotto..we had a great time..the staff is very good and very young..the owner is friendly and very kind..the dishes are very good, they make 4 menus, and it is better to go hungry because you eat a lot..we will be back..

On a sad rainy day we arrived by chance in this magnificent Crotto where they welcomed us with warmth and friendliness. Simple and delicious dishes! The gnocchi are exquisitely delicious and the ribs a pleasure for the palate. Don't forget to try the sciatt! Thank you so much, we will be back for sure!

Characteristic crotto located near the waterfall, we went for dinner. Cozy and rustic place, there are tables outside. Honest prices, little choice on courses (especially the first course which is only one) but quality. Friendly and helpful staff

Great place for a family lunch or a touch and go trip. Typical dishes, practical and fast service.

Mandatory menu on holidays. The food was not good. They offered us to take the leftovers home and charged us 50 cents for each tray, absurd.

Venticinque aprile di luce limpida e di nuvole malandrine nel cielo della Val Chiavenna. Bella la passeggiata di un’oretta che sale dal centro principale verso il Crotto, quasi tutta su pista ciclabile percorribile anche a piedi. Sgomenta e fa pensare, quasi all’inizio, il luogo del martirio della Beata suor Maria Laura Mainetti. Il Crotto è ben nascosto tra le fronde del bosco incipiente e vicino alle Cascate dell’Acquafragia. Accogliente la solida e pratica cordialità della signora Monica, settentrionalmente iussivi i menu che vietano variazioni con perentori futuri (“ogni persona sceglierà…”, ma , se si chiede con garbo, si ottengono aggiustamenti). Strepitosi gli Sciat iniziali, morbidi e perfettamente dorati; vera prelibatezza gli gnocchetti chiavennati, che nuotano fra burro e formaggio; forse, un poco più ordinari i secondi (taragna non inobliabile); di nuovo punta di eccellenza i dolci, specie nel semifreddo all’amaretto, morbido e meritoriamente non bisognoso di scalpello, e nel gelato fiordilatte di produzione propria. Sollecito e cordiale il servizio della giovane pattuglia composta da due ragazzi e una ragazza, gentili, educati e rapidi. Il prezzo dei menu prefissati è convenientissimo (neanche i più ricchi vanno oltre i 30 €). Giustamente “punite“ le effrazioni di chi vuole seguire la propria fantasia con aggiunte. Consigliatossimo per cibo, clima umano, bellezza di esterno e interno, onestà del conto.
