06/19/2023 Crotto Dangri: an oasis of peace and taste I got on a mountain bike from Domaso. This crotto is nice because you can still feel the homely atmosphere and the food is always good and local at cheap prices. If you want you can also take a bath and sunbathe by the river. Crotto Dangri is a typical restaurant located in Livo, in Valtellina. Immersed in nature, it offers a rustic and welcoming atmosphere. The menu offers traditional Valtellina dishes, prepared with fresh, seasonal ingredients. I had the opportunity to taste the pizzoccheri, really excellent, and the polenta taragna with mushrooms, tasty and plentiful. The service is kind and attentive. From Dongo by bike: Reaching Crotto Dangri from Dongo by bicycle is a pleasant and panoramic experience. The route, approximately 10 km long, winds along the Valtellina cycle path, alongside the Mera river. The climb is gradual and does not present particular difficulties. The final stretch, which leads to the crotto, is unpaved but easily passable. Advice: Book in advance, especially on weekends. If you arrive by bicycle, bring a change of clothes with you, in case you get sweaty. Enjoy the view and tranquility of Valtellina. In summary: Crotto Dangri is an ideal place for those who want to taste typical Valtellina cuisine in a rustic and welcoming environment. The route from Dongo by bicycle is pleasant and suitable for everyone.

Exceptional, cosy, wonderful folk. This is the epitome of the local dining experience. Wherever I go, I try to find somewhere I can find typical, local, cultural food and experiences. This is what I long for, and have searched for over the years since I was a child and was taken to these sorts of places. If you're looking for a fancy restaurant experience, stay in the tourist towns and leave the good stuff to the rest of us. If you appreciate home-cooked, local food and want to be part of something real, drop in here, spend half the price and have twice the fun. We paid €30 for 2 of us to eat a board of salami and cheese, 2 plates of pizzoccheri (typical pasta of the valley), a jug of wine, 2 bottles of coke and a slice of fresh jam tart from that morning.

I had lunch at this crotto on a Saturday in November. The ratings I gave are inherent to the type of venue. I ate a mixed starter of cured meats which I found very good. As a first course I tried the pizzoccheri which I really liked. You can reach this crotto either on foot (with a comfortable walk of about 3km) starting from Livo or by other means (motorcycle, bicycle, car), but you will have to consider that the road is not particularly beautiful to travel on... (especially by car ) In good weather you can eat outdoors. Seating inside is limited so I recommend booking.

This is a beautifully situated restaurant. That is also the plus point. The atmosphere and service are old-school and that certainly has its charm. The dishes are simple. The kitchen can hardly keep up because there are hardly any staff. That seems like a conscious choice. Crotto Dangri is definitely a place to visit.

We had lunch with friends and children, quite good pizzoccheri even if with very few vegetables, excellent polenta uncia and the stew with mushrooms was good. So-so service. From my point of view a little expensive for what it offers overall. The landscape around the farm is very beautiful.
