Crotto Belvedere In Piuro

A lovely crotto...although it doesn't have the historic look of others in the valley, it still has a contemporary look, faithful to tradition yet contemporary. The cuisine is truly noteworthy (wonderful Chiavenna gnocchetti), and the option of dining outside, overlooking the Mera, is also lovely.

This is our second time back. The food is excellent and the prices are reasonable! Fantastic pizzoccheri and gnocchetti. The place to eat in the summer is lovely, right on the river and the promenade. I discovered they also rent e-bikes.

I've been going to this crotto for years now, but here at Belvedere it's a whole different story! Marco and his staff are always available, courteous, and polite! If you call and there's no room, they'll bend over backwards to find a solution to accommodate you! Personally, we've tried practically the entire menu with friends and family, and there's never been a dish that's disappointed. I love the Sciatt and the typical Valchiavenna gnocchi, and in Valtellina the pizzoccheri are a must... The venison with polenta is a must-try! And the grilled meat?? Spectacular! Everything was perfect, the food, and the location is enchanting. What more could you ask for? A bottle of Inferno red wine! And the bill is always in line with what you eat! Bravo Marco!

It's become a ritual at every stop, stopping for a good lunch or dinner. Always satisfied. They have a fairly extensive menu, with well-crafted traditional dishes. Above all, they offer dishes suitable for children, which should be a must everywhere and which often can't be taken for granted. Plenty of outdoor seating, now covered by a beautiful modern pergola that fits perfectly with the typical crotto setting. Two other indoor dining rooms are available, mostly used in winter or in bad weather. The crotto is worth a visit! For dishes, I recommend the Valchiavenna gnocchetti and the polenta taragna with venison morsels.

The location is very beautiful and typical of a crotto. Excellent dishes such as sciatt (a very small side salad), pizzoccheri, and gnocchetti. The polenta is good, but calling it taragna is a bit much, as the cheese and butter are scarce. Overall, a good place to enjoy typical valley dishes.

Delicious food in keeping with the region's traditions. Service is prompt, smiling, and helpful. The food is wonderful. The views and the nearby river complete the charm of this place. You can also visit a local attraction – a cave where cured meats and cheeses are stored. In summer, the pleasant coolness (around 8 degrees Celsius) provides a moment of respite. A truly excellent place in every respect! Highly recommended!

Beautiful crotto with a cheese and cured meats area worth visiting, and we also ate some excellent sciatt and gnocchetti di Chiavenna.

Very generous portions. Excellent value. Kudos to the very kind Costanza, who made us feel at home. The cheese tasting was truly interesting, and the wine list was good.
