Country House Cafè In Termini imerese

We were at Termini Imerese on May 1st, and it was one of the few places open around noon. We only came for a beer, but it was so pleasant that we ordered a selection of appetizers, which turned out to be really good. Italian beer (Nastro Azurro) and a foreign one (St. Benoit) were on tap. Time passed slowly, we were in no hurry...

Excellent restaurant in a great location. The pizzas are superb and reasonably priced. I highly recommend it.

We came today, December 21st, just before 7pm to eat. The outdoor terrace was empty and we were directed there. We ordered aperitifs, food and drinks. The aperitif came quickly and the food soon after. We asked the waiter who brought our food where our food and drinks were. He went to investigate. While eating, we asked the same thing four more times to three different waiters. We got our drinks after we had already eaten. No apologies. The bill was brought by a very unfriendly waiter. Before coming to eat, we looked at previous reviews, which talked about service problems, but the food is good. We decided to take a risk. Good food leaves a good memory. Bad service also leaves a memory. I don't remember what the food tasted like, but I remember the bad service.

I just read another review a guy posted yesterday and I agree with him about the poor service. We waited a long time for the waiter to even come over to us and there were only three tables with anybody seated. Finally, we called him over to get our order and he came back like 15 minutes later. That was 45 minutes into our being there. After our order was taken other people arriving later were getting served before us. We finally asked about our order and the guy said it took longer to cook ours, but other people were eating full courses and they had theirs first. The dining room filled up while we were there and it looked like most people were satisfied My background is hospitality management, so I was very surprised at the lackadaisical attitude of the staff. Our waiters weren’t friendly and didn’t respond well when we asked questions. One dish had to go back because it was so overly salted. It wasn’t that it tasted salty. It was that it had so much salt you couldn’t taste the food. Our other dishes were quite delicious and prepared beautifully. The wait time was shocking both with our order being taken, and with the amount of time it took to prepare the food but I’m willing to give them another chance after I read what the owner responded to the other guy. Maybe ours was just an off night.
