Coquus In Lucera

One of the top meals I had in the region during my recent trip to Italy. I even got a chance to talk to Chef Mirko and his dad a little. Their tasting menu options are flexible, so I did their choose-whichever-you-want and took 4 dishes and added a dessert. 62 euros for dinner June 2024, very reasonably priced. I tried their uovo purgatorio, the squid ink and seafood ravioli (so good!), the salted eggnog sauce on a stuffed lamb donut, the pork belly with carrot sauce and anise (most delicious plate of the night), and their chocolate and peanut tart. The only thing a bit off was the tart because when it crumbled, the entire crust fell apart and it wasn't fused to the filling, so you had to work to get a bite of everything. Nonetheless, this place is very worth it to visit Lucera.

An unexpected discovery a stone's throw from home. Having left Foggia we were looking for a nearby place for a high quality dinner and we found this little place in Lucera which won us over. Behind every dish there is study, work, knowledge, but above all passion, that of chef Mirko, but also of his family. We ate divinely, enjoying a real experience and the excellent value for money is just the icing on the cake. We will definitely return and in the meantime we can only wish "luck major" to the one who defines himself as a "coquus"!

Da Foggia cercavamo un posto vicino per una cena di un certo livello e abbiamo trovato questo posticino a Lucera che ci ha conquistati. Dietro ogni piatto c'è studio, lavoro, conoscenza, ma in primis passione, quella dello chef Mirko, ma anche della sua famiglia. Abbiamo mangiato divinamente, godendo di una vera e propria esperienza e l'ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo è solo la ciliegina sulla torta. Torneremo sicuramente e nel frattempo a colui che si definisce un "coquus" non possiamo che augurare "fortuna major"!

Excellent restaurant, from starter to dessert. The lamb donut was particularly good! The service was also attentive and careful, and the wines very good. We really liked it.

Absolute gem of a restaurant. Fantastic food, service, and atmosphere. This is now one of our favorite places anywhere in the world.

A wonderful discovery in Lucera, a candidate city for Capital of Culture 2026. Beautiful location, well looked after. Excellent staff, very well trained, very helpful and very kind! The jewel in the crown is the magical chef Mirko Esposito, son of art, who has embellished the city of Lucera with his delicious cuisine, unusual and not at all predictable! Unique dishes that I highly recommend tasting! Excellent selection of wines! Value for money another surprise! Excellent! Hurry and visit him!
