Great reccomendation by the hotel. Most expensive meal yet on tour in 🇮🇹. 2 sides to the resturarnt we approached from the top and were the only people. The other side was buzzing...asked for a wine reccomendation and was offered the most expensive Rose on the list..which isn't a reccomendation.. all the same nice

A very beautiful and atmospheric restaurant. We sat in the section on Via Capo d'Africa. Despite the late hour, we were welcomed very warmly for lunch. The service was very pleasant, elegant, and professional. They have a very extensive wine list here, with good wines at a fair price. We had a delicious meal here after the waiter offered us several suggestions. This is a restaurant where, despite its location close to the Colosseum, few tourists come to eat.

During our stay, this was our favorite restaurant, and we went back twice. Everything was delicious. I highly recommend it.

Love the food here, fresh seafood (love the grilled scallops) and Italian dish especially focaccia bread and pasta, good selection of wine especially red wine, team is lovely and recommend all the right things to us ❤️

We came to this restaurant two days ago, located just a short walk from our hotel. Originally, we had planned to eat at another place a little further away, but it was fully booked. In the end, we couldn't have hoped for better: we stumbled upon an excellent restaurant, far superior to the one I had initially planned (and I say this from experience, as I tried the other restaurant the next day and the difference was immediately apparent). The appetizers were excellent, especially the carpaccio, which was a real treat. I trusted the waiter to recommend a white wine, and he suggested one that turned out to be an excellent choice. The service was impeccable, with a perfect wait time: the entire team was incredibly attentive. The pasta carbonara was delicious, not to mention the tiramisu, which was equally superb. In short, a wonderful discovery that I highly recommend.

I made reservations at Contrario months in advance, having read good reviews. We arrived for dinner, were greeted with a big smile, and seated immediately. The restaurant is fancy, stylish, yet has an authentic rustic feel to it. Very nicely decorated. The service was fantastic, our waiter was friendly, polite, attentive and efficient. The food was delicious! We ordered Coniglio alla Cacciatore con Olive (rabbit) - spectacular! Tender and tasty! We got the Tonnarelli Cacio e Pepe, which was amazing. Rich, savory sauce, pasta cooked al dente. Finally, we ordered an octopus & potato salad - so refreshing! Absolutely recommended!
