Col di Gotte In Abbateggio

We stumbled upon this restaurant by chance, unaware of its existence, even though we live in Roccamorice and are located right at the intersection of the two towns of Abbateggio and Roccamorice, in the Abbateggio area. The menu is predominantly omnivorous, featuring meat and game, so it's not suitable for a vegetarian like me. Despite everything, I found a way out with the cacio e ovo (cacio e egg) meatballs, truly superb, and an excellent first course of homemade maltagliati (pasta with vegetables and ricotta). The Abruzzese ravioli are also excellent, and the prices are fair given the excellent quality. The staff is friendly and the service is quite fast. Overall, highly recommended. You'll be licking your chops like a cat. 😉

A lovely discovery! Excellent dinner, with authentic, timeless flavors. The owners and waitresses are kind, attentive, and always smiling. The place is clean and welcoming, with a family atmosphere that makes you feel immediately at ease. Recommended!

Exceptional! For the authentic food, including organic, for the kindness, for the view, and for the quality. We tried it out of curiosity last year, and it pampered us for a whole week. The typical Abruzzo dishes are excellently cooked, and you can taste the quality of the ingredients. We tried them all, but the best is... the one they recommend, based on their garden. A truly beautiful and charming place on top of a hill with a breathtaking view. We were greeted with rare kindness and helpfulness. They let us choose the most comfortable table for our dog, and promptly brought him a bowl of water. We ordered appetizers, first courses, second courses, and dessert, all truly delicious, prepared with great skill and traditional care. The portions were truly generous, especially considering the very fair prices. We were initially surprised when, after the appetizer, they brought us empty plates for the first course, but only later did we discover why: each first course is served on a tray (so you can imagine the portions). Special mention goes to the grilled pecorino cheese, the cacio e ove meatballs, and the house pickles. We leave the place truly satisfied with our dinner. We'll be back.

As host of the B&B GabrielMary' located in Scafa (PE), after tasting the Abruzzo specialties in this place, I highly recommend my guests and others to try it.

Very good food, beautiful view.

We were pleasantly surprised by this traditional restaurant located atop a small hill. It offers a 360-degree view of the Majella. Excellent, authentic food at reasonable prices. Excellent service. Spotlessly clean restrooms. Outdoor space. A bit noisy, but it was Sunday lunchtime.

We arrived well in advance, but our table was already ready. Highly recommended by friends, it did not disappoint. The kindness and patience in explaining the dishes and letting us taste the typical products are matched by the quantity, quality, and deliciousness of the dishes. Highly recommended.

A welcoming place, very friendly staff, and delicious local dishes. Ample outdoor parking and an outdoor area with tables and benches for guests.
