If you want to visit Tropea, after a winding road, there's no other choice than to stop at the Marina campsite (during this time of May) for €23 per day with the Asci card. It's certainly not luxurious, but it offers the bare minimum: toilet, shower, waste disposal, pizzeria, and access to the beach. Of course, given the impressive number of campers, promiscuity is guaranteed, and the water pressure in the showers is noticeable in the evening. So no need to get upset... some pitches (near the beach) are difficult to maneuver, and they don't accept credit cards. Otherwise, at the foot of the stairs leading up to Tropea (restaurant, bar, pastry shop, grocery store, and a great view in the evening). In short, it's up to you.

The campsite is in a prime location right by the sea, with direct access to the village. There's a very nice restaurant on site.
Unfortunately, the showers are very old, worn, and borderline poor. Hot water is available from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. and from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Hence, unfortunately, only 4 stars.

A great campsite – everything you need: warm, clean showers, clean toilets, and even a washing machine. Overall, a very well-maintained and beautiful facility. There's also a restaurant on site – guests receive a 10% discount.
The beach is a dream and right at your feet.
Getting there and back was a bit of an adventure: You can follow the navigation system up to the no-traffic zone (ZTL) in town, after which you should follow the signs for "Mare" or "Porto." After a few hundred meters and a few bends, the navigation system calms down again.
The price in May was absolutely fair: 2 nights, 2 people, including electricity – €46.
The staff is very friendly and helpful.
The town is easily accessible via a 40-meter staircase – but not for people with physical disabilities.
All in all: a great town with beautiful beaches and a fantastic campsite👋

Usually I only write a review when I'm gone but now we're still here. There's something to criticize at every campsite but the fact that we're still here despite the storm and rain says a lot. The place is unparalleled, so incredibly beautiful and with a super nice place at over 100 steps to walk up. It's a bit outdated here but that's the case almost everywhere in Italy. Yes, it's not a Hilton here, but much nicer. If you can read then you know that the showers only have hot water between 8-10 and after 4 pm and that's just right. Just had a nice shower. Yes and of course that shower could be renovated but for less than €20,- for 2 people and with an Acsi card you have to accept some things. Many people stay here despite the storm and rain, children around us are having fun, dogs are welcome, the beach is magnificent with crystal clear water and 20 degrees. Where do you have that in mid-May? Well here. And most people here are just very nice and friendly and do their best to make it cozy here. We'll be staying for a while!
Oh yeah and the restaurant is great too!

A great place to explore the city, only what feels like 500 steps up to the old town. Be sure to follow the signs for motorhomes if you are driving one. The pitches are very narrow. The wash house should be renovated.

Nice campsite with pitches right by the sea, shaded with trees a little further back. New showers are currently being worked on, and two warm, free showers are currently in operation. Everything was very clean, friendly staff.

A very nice place by the 🌊 sea with a large beach. The operators are friendly. The pitches are of different sizes. The exit is a bit narrow.

Nice location right on the beach, you can get to the town via 110 steps. Only a shower with hot water available. Large construction site in the sanitary area. Unfortunately all restaurants on the beach are still closed.

I am integrating the review because I stayed again on the night of 9 June 2024 and I confirm what is written below, nothing new.
It's the first time I've written a review even though I've already been there a dozen times over the years and always with a tent for 2 nights or so, in different periods between June and September (like this time from day 15). I have always found a place even if it is always very busy like this time despite it being mid-September.
Campsite unchanged over the years, not new in anything but functional if you are not looking for luxury. Very nice location, directly on the sea, as wonderful as the beach which however is quite crowded like the nearby ones. It has nothing other than toilets and an excellent restaurant/pizzeria/bar right on the sea, no market, entertainment or anything else. Very friendly staff both in management and in the restaurant. The pitches are all the same, covered by a tarpaulin, and you can also keep your car there. No flies, wasps and mosquitoes. For ants, the usual attention is enough. Outside the campsite, just take the steps to reach the magnificent historic center of Tropea. Boats depart from the nearby port for trips along the coast or to the Aeolian Islands. In conclusion, I absolutely recommend it, if only for the strategic position.
