A delightful discovery during a casual search for local food after a quick visit to the nearby volcano. Convenient outdoor parking. Very welcoming hosts. Interesting and varied menu. Everything was delicious and ready in minutes. The beer selection was also good. The dining room was heated. Congratulations and thank you for the pleasant stop.

What came before: After the debacle in Venice (finally, after three days of recovering from food poisoning there), we can finally enjoy our food again. Friday evening - in August - pizza night: For €8 to €9, fresh pizza from the wood-fired oven. Large, generously filled, and "no added sugar." Reservations are recommended. The pizzaiolo can only handle so many people; once it's gone, it's gone. And the crowds know it. The kiosk is packed. This is what the "Eat" from the movie Eat, Pray, and Love means.

We've known Il Chiosco since the legendary blonde lady was there. Back then, she made the classic Romagna piadinas, delicious! Then she gave in, and I admit I was a bit skeptical. But Il Chiosco has been in excellent hands: they've added new twists and even daring combinations, but always delicious. Next week, we'll be in Rocca, and we'll definitely take a trip to Il Chiosco!
