As soon as we arrived, the owner approached us and asked us what we wanted to eat: we replied that we would have ordered a starter and a second course; he tells us "then I'll bring you a starter and for the second course I have a nice sea bream caught today". We accept the proposal. Result: total of 200 euros for two (100 euros for starter and 90 euros for sea bream). Absurd experience began to arrive various portions of appetizer but all tiny: 4 marinated anchovies he charged 17 euros, the mussels were ALL empty and also around 17-18 euros, 4 meatballs 17 euros. On the other hand, the waiters were very kind. The price was absolutely out of the market, perhaps they had to compensate for the evening given that there were only 4 seated tables? Among other things, there is another Chinappi in Formia, Michele Chinappi, which is where we wanted to go and which had been recommended to us, but unfortunately we made a mistake in booking. Edit (18/08): Mr. Stefano Chinappi, after the review, contacted me: he invited me and my girlfriend to his restaurant and apologized for what happened, expressing his willingness to remedy what happened. Yesterday (Saturday 17/08) he had the thought of writing to me again to invite me to go to dinner with him, but unfortunately I was no longer in the area. He then had the foresight to reimburse me for all the starters (100 euros). Errors/mistakes can happen (similar events have happened to me other times), but this type of attention to the customer is certainly to be appreciated and, at least personally, no restaurateur has ever been so present after paying the bill and has ever shown this. kind of attention. We will definitely return when we are in the area!

This morning Mr. Chinappi did as stated. He resolved the issue by refunding as stated and personally apologizing for what happened. I therefore find it right to thank him publicly for the professionalism demonstrated. You can certainly make a mistake but admitting it and making amends by putting your face to it personally I think it is a demonstration of humility! Thanks Stefano! Excellent experience during these holiday days. The environment is already very welcoming right from the entrance, then we had dinner in the garden and we had a very good time. I recommend their raw meats and the square spaghetti with prawns, but the real gem is the bread. A really nice restaurant, very good!

I had dinner with my family in this very characteristic place. Recommended by many people, for the quality of the material and for the history it has had for 3 generations. We were right to trust. MR STEFANO CHINAPPI did not deny himself! Since he himself takes care of the customer. It made us feel at home, with a touch of class from the waiters and the professionalism of the kitchen. Serata perfetta in un incantevole giardino di sabato sera. Abbiamo mangiato degli ottimi antipasti sia crudi che cotti per poi concludere la serata con due primi (è la loro particolarità!!!). Conto giusto per quello che abbiamo mangiato, servizio molto attento e professionale, tutte le portate erano buonissime si sente nei piatti che utilizzano materie prime di qualità. Continuate così

Il Ritorno Stefano Chinappi. Tutto eccellente come sempre ! Abbiamo avuto il piacere di rincontrare Stefano Chinappi , dopo vicissitudini da infortunistica stradale, però Tutto dall'inizio alla fine alla grande ! Materie prime eccellente, ma questo non basta, perché la loro preparazione ne esaltavano le qualità ! Come in alcuni ristoranti di Formia dove il pesce fresco viene bollito e portato al tavolo x poi condire con olio sale e limone. Non va bene ! Location incantevole e gradevole, sotto un aranceto . Servizio buono. Piatti ben preparati. Prezzi adeguati e meritevoli. X finire ci hanno servito un " passito " proveniente da un Gewrztraminer del Trentino, una favola. Questo si trova negli altri ristoranti ? .... No !
