Absolutely loved this place! We were given the name of the restaurant by our taxi driver. Such a great little area with lots of people and little restaurants. Checco er Carettiere did not disappoint. Atmosphere was wonderful, staff was excellent (especially Gustava) and the food was excellent! Went back a second night, they make you feel like family <3

Great authentic Italian Restaurant which sometimes has live music. Friday night was really great and the food, staff entertainment absolutely fantastic. Would definitely recommend this place for authentic food 👌 but it pays to reserve a table in advance as I did .

First time and it won't be the last. We went to Checco for my birthday, reservations are recommended, only online not by phone, the place was crowded but not confusing, you could feel that the staff knew their stuff Spectacular dinner starting from the appetizers: fried cod, courgette flowers stuffed with anchovies and fried, fried artichokes and to the jury, supplì, carbonara and bombolotti alla matriciana, parmigiana, ossobuco, special mention to the leg of lamb baked with potatoes, it was an off-menu recommended to us by Andrea the head waiter who looked after us and pampered us throughout the dinner, dishes of Roman cuisine absolutely fantastic, the cake always of their production having also a pastry shop was fabulous, there were three of us two bottles of wine. We spent quite a lot but we also ate and drank and above all we had a good time. Thank you for the magnificent experience!!

I have been following Stefania and her recipes for 2 years, today I managed to have lunch in your bistro. Perfect for an informal lunch after a walk, finally enjoying Stefania's recipes, which I now know by heart. Tonnarelli alla carbonara, perfect, a plate of mixed fried foods, fantastic and the potato pie, delicious. It's true, when I ordered I got carried away by enthusiasm and overdid it, but the girl who followed me, kindly prepared the unfinished food in take-away containers. I HOPE TO COME BACK SOON, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

6th visit since 2000 on our annual stay in Rome. Wonderful food and service provided by Augusto. Singer/guitarists Christiano and Marco rock the restaurant with their songs on Sunday afternoons. Highly recommend as one of the most enjoyable meals and ambience in Rome. Tom and Jill
