Exceptional! Excellent and plentiful food, a typical osteria/trattoria atmosphere, very homey but with an eye for quality and professional service. Friendly and courteous waiters. If I could, I'd go back tomorrow.

On a cold January day, what better refreshment than Paola's fantastic broccoli and arzilla soup, not only an unsurpassed cook but also a champion of charm. Not to mention the melt-in-the-mouth tomato sauce rolls, just like the ones she made at home for Sunday lunch. Cuisine for people with refined palates. Thank you, Paola.

The best amatriciana I've ever eaten in my life! 😍 A typical restaurant in the heart of Rome, with an authentic and welcoming atmosphere. Everything was delicious, from the puntarelle to the first courses, truly Roman cuisine done as it should be. Making the evening even more special were two fantastic guys who, singing, entertained us and gave us a unique experience. Highly recommended, I'll definitely be back!

I had dinner at Checco er Carrettiere with my loved ones, intrigued by the recipes the owner shares on social media. I was truly satisfied with the excellent dishes, impeccable service, and the owner's helpfulness, which made us feel at home. Great Checco!!!!

A place worth visiting! The welcoming atmosphere, the typical rustic-style furnishings, and the photos on the walls tell the story of this place's rich history. What more can I say, except that you can enjoy a delightful meal at this restaurant! Beyond the typical Roman osteria, the staff is helpful and friendly, very approachable, and above all, friendly. The food is among the best, and the dishes truly taste of tradition. The quality stands out above all else: a generous plate of gricia or carbonara, or even fried artichokes and oxtail stew, and you immediately feel like you're being pampered by a warm hug at grandma's house. The "Checco Er Carrettiere" restaurant is worth visiting! ❤️

A fantastic, traditional restaurant. Everything was delicious and plentiful. We had the €65 set menu, which included fried artichokes as a starter, pasta all'amatriciana as a first course, veal escalopes with prosciutto and sage, served with potatoes as a second course, tiramisu for dessert, and half a liter of red wine and a liter of water. I highly recommend this restaurant.

05/12/2025: A restaurant located on the main street of Campagnano di Roma, much talked about in the northern area, having received several awards for quality. I usually eat here during the week when I can because it's quieter; I honestly can't imagine how crowded it is on weekends. I've tried their dishes at this restaurant many times, always leaving satisfied. Once I ordered excellent cappellacci for a first course, very good cod for a second course, and of course the inevitable mixed fried fish for an appetizer. Another time, however, we ordered fettuccine with porcini mushrooms, which were good but nothing special (I think they were frozen porcini mushrooms), and for a second course, the roasted porcini mushrooms were excellent and fresh (the only downside for me, as I don't tolerate them very well, is the truly excessive amount of garlic). And I always forgot about the excellent and very famous fried fish for an appetizer (including the ever-present fried pear, very delicious). The wine is excellent even in bulk, if I remember correctly; the owner told me it's sulfites-free and sourced from a trusted producer. My companion also ordered the dessert, which was good, but I didn't try it; I prefer savory dishes. I'll definitely be back, as I always leave this restaurant satisfied. Prices are moderately high for a small-town osteria.
16/11/2025: A charming village and a quaint restaurant. Excellent service from a truly kind and charming lady. The food was excellent for what we tried, and the ingredients were of excellent quality. The price is very fair, and it's worth a stop.
