Charlie In Orvieto

Quiet place, excellent pizza, adequate service.

We came across Charlie’s earlier in the day and were slightly disappointed we hadn’t found this restaurant sooner. Later in the day, we arrived at another restaurant where we had reserved a table but had to walk away as we were told our family of 5 would need to sit separately. We thought we would try to get into Charlie’s… we arrived and the lovely gentleman found us a table. The atmosphere was lovely with tables well spaced between other customers, the eating area was lit by soft lighting adding to the atmosphere. Staff were warm and welcoming. Service was excellent. Good was wonderful. It was a fabulous meal for our final night in Orvieto. So glad we came across your beautiful establishment. It comes highly recommended. Thank you!

Truly excellent pizza. We lost our credit and debit cards at this restaurant, and the owner was very kind in taking them to the Carabinieri station in Orvieto, where they then contacted me. The world would be a better place if there were more people like that. Thank you

Idyllic setting (beautifully decorated enclosed courtyard), attentive welcome from very professional waitresses (as is often the case in Italy 👏👏👏). We ordered two pizzas and they were honestly delicious. Highly recommended 👍👍👍

Bel locale, si accede da un giardino/terrazza esterna. Interni eleganti, all'apparenza sembra un locale pretenzioso. Buona la pizza e anche l'offerta della cucina. il servizio é da rivedere con le addette alla sala che sembrano alle prime armi. Prezzi in media con l'offerta gastronomica di Orvieto.

Tuvimos una comida encantadora y relajada en Charlie en nuestra primera noche en Orvieto. Compartimos un par de primi piatti y un postre. La sopa de verduras (zuppa de vedure) era nuestra favorita. Maravilloso sabor en una sopa abundante con un rico caldo, frijoles y verduras, y dos crostini, que fue perfecto después de un día fresco y lluvioso. También compartimos una pasta de pesto con un poco de tomate fresco (ombrichelle al pesto di basilico). Una vez más, un excelente sabor con solo una pizca de arena que distrae. La ombrichelle es una hebra gruesa de pasta con buen masticable que sabía a fresco hecho y se cocinó perfectamente, y se aderezó con parmeggiano finamente afeitado. No estábamos planeando en el postre, pero estábamos relajados y sin prisa por salir (otra buena señal) así que escuchamos el menú de postres. Para Semana Santa, tenían un pan Colomba especial con crema Chantilly, una tradición Pasqua. Es un pan dulce con pequeños trozos de fruta confitada, hecho por el hermano de uno de los propietarios. Era suave, húmedo y sabroso. La crema estaba deliciosa. Nos sentamos dentro en un acogedor comedor. Hay un gran patio, aunque no estaba abierto en esta noche fresca y húmeda. El servicio fue atento y fueron muy pacientes con nuestro italiano limitado. Recomendamos Charlie e hicimos una reserva para volver de nuevo antes de salir de la ciudad.
