On a scorching hot day in mid-September, we found some fresh air in a quiet and truly quaint alley. But the surprise was the C'Era una volta restaurant, attached to the Hotel Roma. The Bolognese owners, the qualified, passionate, and kind staff—thanks to Alex and the Bolognese chef (whom we saw pass by on his bike). And finally... the tasting trio of first courses... Fabulous, definitely worth it to experience the flavors of Bologna and the Bolognese cutlet.
Price is in line, so quality wins out because it's made of Italian flavors and people.

The outside laneway experience at C’Era Una Volta was outstanding. The service was 10/10, so attentive and upbeat! Two of the best hospitality hosts. The tagliatelle al ragù was delicious, and my husband raved about his seafood pasta! We didn’t have a booking, but lucked in with our timing. Many others were turned away as no free tables. Definitely a must try! Grazie Mille!!

We went to this restaurant without reading any previous reviews, and it was a great choice. The atmosphere was peaceful, and we could eat inside or outside. The waiters were very friendly and helpful. The restaurant lacked nothing.
We ordered tagliatella bolognese and parmesan tortellini; I couldn't tell you which was better. I 100% recommend this restaurant. Excellent value for money, as both dishes plus a drink cost less than €50.

A very good restaurant with a warm welcome.

We sat outside. The atmosphere was really nice, the street is lovely. We drank aperol and meditation spritz and liked our drinks. The ragu (bolognese) was okay but nothing special.
