Typical Bologna menu. A trio of lasagna, tortellini, and pasta al ragu is very tasty and comes in a generously sized portion. Very attentive service.

I ate very well (grilled mortadella with arugula + tortellini in broth + Sangiovese) and the waiting staff was exceptionally professional and courteous.

Service was the highlight, the atmosphere and food were both average at best. Plenty of places around the same area have much better food and atmosphere.

Came here for lunch and the Service and atmosphere was 10/10!
Octopus salad for entree was absolutely perfect followed by entrecôte meat which was soft and flavourful
For desert I got the chocolate cake , was a little dry and I felt like it needed to be warmed up
All up the food was amazing and I would definitely recommend 👍

On a scorching hot day in mid-September, we found some fresh air in a quiet and truly quaint alley. But the surprise was the C'Era una volta restaurant, attached to the Hotel Roma. The Bolognese owners, the qualified, passionate, and kind staff—thanks to Alex and the Bolognese chef (whom we saw pass by on his bike). And finally... the tasting trio of first courses... Fabulous, definitely worth it to experience the flavors of Bologna and the Bolognese cutlet.
Price is in line, so quality wins out because it's made of Italian flavors and people.

The outside laneway experience at C’Era Una Volta was outstanding. The service was 10/10, so attentive and upbeat! Two of the best hospitality hosts. The tagliatelle al ragù was delicious, and my husband raved about his seafood pasta! We didn’t have a booking, but lucked in with our timing. Many others were turned away as no free tables. Definitely a must try! Grazie Mille!!
