Highly recommended and charming place in Trapani. It's located across from an imposing church, and the staff is attentive and smiling, ready to welcome you warmly. The food was excellent; we tried four different first courses, all delicious. Recommended for a good fish-based first or second course, made with well-crafted ingredients. Highly recommended.

Everything is superb... when sitting down at the table is like taking a journey through the flavors and aromas of a place. There's so much passion and professionalism in what you do. Sincere compliments to the entire staff. I'd say there's little more to add...

We found ourselves having dinner almost by chance on our first evening in Trapani. La Taverna is located in a small square across from the Church of the Holy Souls of Purgatory. It's an intimate, welcoming place that warms your heart and leaves a smile on your face. Good wine, excellent food (the couscous and busiate pasta were recommended, but in general, all the dishes at the surrounding tables were appealing), and fair prices. Result: we returned the next evening!

Meticulous attention to detail goes into selecting the ingredients, crafting seemingly simple combinations. Delicious food, served in a very welcoming atmosphere. Kudos to everyone, especially to those in the kitchen who created such a wonderful culinary experience.

Yesterday, to celebrate my birthday, my wife and daughter invited me to dinner at "La Taverna di Sicilia CAUPONA" located in Piazza Purgatorio, 32 Trapani (right in front of the church of Purgatory where the 20 17th century sculptural groups used for the Stations of the Cross more famously known as -MISTERI- are kept. We dined outdoors, tables reasonably equidistant, the order was taken by the owner "Claudio" who in a very polite and sociable manner temporarily sat at our table (just long enough to describe the dishes in detail). We chose the monsu appetizer (slice of tuna mosciame on a bed of fried panella, sardine meatballs, cuttlefish meatballs, breaded and fried tuma cheese covered with tuna bottarga, mackerel in marinated sauce and finally shrimp on a bed of burrata), for the second course we chose the fish of the The day before (brought to us in advance) featured John Dory cooked in "acqua pazza" (a traditional Sicilian stew) with potatoes, cherry tomatoes, and celery. Finally, dessert included caramelized Sicilian cassata with orange and tiramisu by the glass. Everything was simply excellent, well-cooked. Table service was provided by professionally trained, helpful, and courteous staff in uniform. The price was reasonably commensurate with the quality of the food and the service provided. I personally believe that La Taverna di Sicilia CAUPONA fully represents the flavors and aromas of Sicily and is, therefore, the flagship for the city of Trapani and Sicily as a whole. I highly recommend it.

I had dinner at Caupona Taverna di Sicilia, and the experience was truly special. The restaurant is located in a beautiful square, illuminated by the church, which lends a magical atmosphere to the evening. The interior is warm and rustic, typical of Sicilian taverns. Each dish reflects tradition with fresh ingredients and authentic flavors: a special mention goes to the couscous, perfect and fragrant. The staff is kind and attentive, making every guest feel at ease. A true journey into authentic Sicily.

My girlfriend and I ate on a Friday evening in late August. Reservations are highly recommended, as many people asked for a table after we were seated but had to leave, especially between 8:30 and 9:30 PM. We were greeted by the friendly and attentive staff. After a few minutes (maybe 3/4), the couscous a Trapanisi arrived on a beautiful plate accompanied by a "sauce" to moisten it to taste (the waiter was kind in explaining how to manage the moisture in the couscous). My girlfriend and I both opted for two other first courses: spaghetti with shrimp tartare and spaghetti with Mazzara prawns. We opted for this option so we could try both raw and cooked shrimp. In both cases, the plate wasn't dirty; in fact, we had to mop it up with bread. The super-friendly staff and friendly owner made our evening enjoyable. I would definitely go back, especially for the unique taste of their Cuscusu in Trapani!!

Really nice place in a square just behind the harbour. Classical menu with some interesting variations (squid alla norma) and baked cheese with honey. Good sicilian wine selection as well. My busiate with sicilian pesto were the best i had on the trip.

Locale semplice e servizio perfetto. Il cibo una garanzia! Abbiamo privato vari piatti: caponata, pasta con le sarde, matriciana di tonno, pasta al ragu di polpo, ...tutto buonissimo. Forse suggeirei meno aglio nel pesto alla trapanese ma solo per quieto vivere postcena 🤣

Dai classici cous cous di pesce agli antipasti di mare, ogni portata è un piccolo capolavoro. Un altro punto di forza è l’eccellente selezione di vini locali, curata con attenzione per valorizzare al meglio ogni sapore. In sala, Claudio è una vera guida: con competenza e cortesia descrive ogni piatto con passione e propone abbinamenti enologici impeccabili, rendendo l’esperienza ancora più coinvolgente. Il rapporto qualità-prezzo è sorprendente: qualità altissima, servizio impeccabile e prezzi onesti, una combinazione sempre più rara. Un indirizzo da non perdere per chi cerca un’autentica esperienza gastronomica siciliana, in un ambiente semplice ma pieno di anima. Consigliatissimo!
