Castropub ( pizzeria, trattoria, pub) In Castroreale

A must-see on the Sicilian culinary map. Excellent stockfish dishes enjoyed in a pleasant setting with a beautiful view, and of course, elegantly explained and served by the owner. Fried bread with wine this good has never been found anywhere else.

Quaint place, exceptional food, reasonable prices. Definitely worth a try. We had fried appetizers and grilled meat, along with traditional desserts. Everything was excellent.

For such a small village, I wasn't expecting such a welcoming restaurant with delicious local specialties! I returned the next day for breakfast. Homemade brioches and granitas, delicious croissants, and a peaceful atmosphere! The staff were professional and extremely kind. I can't wait to go back!

11/16/25 As usual, my husband and I, due to our work commitments, travel from Tortorici on weekends to go out to eat and more than once we choose this welcoming place where even our little girl often asks us to go there because she says: "I want to go to the pub, they give me sweets and the food is good, mom." In publishing this review because on Sunday evening for the umpteenth time we had a great time and therefore deserve a positive review, I came across some horrible comments on the same date where both my husband, I and my little girl, I repeat, my little girl, tried this menu which included; House appetizer which was already full for two of us... Two first courses, one with a masterfully made ragù and the other with porchetta, eaten by my 4-year-old daughter. Now I wonder how you can smear, or rather, I correct myself, trying to smear a name of the boys who, for what little we know, are; Polite, smiling, and ready to accommodate every need and every intolerance. I even found myself at a dinner with other gentlemen who were eating an all-vegetarian dinner. From the beautiful view, I said to my husband: "Oh my God, what a spectacle! Everything is high-quality and smells genuine and fresh. My dears, some of you have the stench in your heart." P.S. For 25 euros each, which we also spent except for the child, the reduced menu isn't a price that, given the quality, seems at all excessive. Keep up the good work, guys. Carmelo is a wonderful person, a warm welcome, good music, good food, and a fantastic view—you can eat while looking out over the Aeolian Islands! Highly recommended!
