Such a breathtaking place! Wow from arrival to departure. The staff is genuinely amazing. Always helpful and friendly. Rooms were great and impeccable - great standard. A beautiful kitten was playful and sweet. And of course the wine - every sip, every bottle was delicious!

I had visited Castello a few years ago and I had a wonderful experience. That is why , I highly recommended it to be included in a tour of tuscany that I had organized with a travel group. We went last week and everything was wonderful. we were a group that consists of families and everyone had a great time. The food, the atmosphere, the tour everything was wonderful. My husband and I were recently married at Castello Vicchiomaggio, and we truly couldn’t have imagined a more perfect experience. From start to finish, everything exceeded our expectations. The staff were warm, attentive, and incredibly accommodating, making us and our guests feel completely at home. A special thank you to Sandra, whose kindness and care made us feel like family—she was an absolute joy to work with. The breathtaking views and the charm of the castle created an unforgettable backdrop for our celebration. All of our guests were able to stay on-site, which made the experience even more magical, and everyone was in awe of both the venue and the stunning surrounding area. It was, without question, the wedding of my dreams, and I will forever be grateful we chose such a remarkable place to begin our married life. If you’re considering Castello Vicchiomaggio as your wedding venue—do it. You will not be disappointed!

We stayed at Castello Vicchiomaggio during our road trip through Tuscany. The setting is beautiful, with scenic views all around and a peaceful atmosphere — the location is definitely the highlight of this property. We were in the Cosimo room, which was clean and quiet, but the decor felt quite bare and the bed was smaller than expected. The towels left fuzz everywhere, which became a bit annoying, and trash bins were oddly hard to find, even outside — something we noticed while trying to clean out our car. Breakfast was fairly limited, especially considering the price. There were just a few kinds of bread, cheese, meats, yogurt, fruit, and some hot dishes like scrambled eggs and frittata. It felt more like a budget offering in an otherwise premium setting. We had dinner at the on-site restaurant, which was genuinely delicious. However, it’s closed every other day, which could be inconvenient if you don’t have a car — there’s nothing within walking distance. Also, no one offered to help with luggage, which wasn’t a big issue for us but might be for others, given the narrow castle stairs. The infinity pool area is lovely, but the toilet and changing facilities nearby felt outdated and not in line with the overall price and presentation. On the positive side, the staff were friendly and welcoming, and the wine tasting and lunch experience was excellent — definitely one of the highlights of our stay. Overall, Castello Vicchiomaggio is a scenic and charming property, but there are quite a few details that felt overlooked or not quite up to the standard one might expect in this price range.

Following a private tour of Siena, Italy, we drove to our next scheduled destination, Castello Vicchiomaggio in Greve in Chianti, Florence, Italy. Castello Vicchiomaggio, a renovated castle in Tuscany, has been transformed into a stunning agriturismo. For families of four, we suggest renting the family apartment, which offers a private terrace, private entrance, living room with fireplace, dining room, two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a fully equipped kitchen with a country-style design. While hotel rooms are provided, their location across the castle grounds presents an inconvenience. Moreover, the considerable distance between parking and the dining areas requires a daily walk of significant length. A private door provides direct access from the family apartment to the Castle restaurant. To celebrate the kid’s mother’s birthday, we reserved the Monday evening Tuscan Baron Littifredo’s Banquet, including wine tasting and cellar tour. A guided tour encompassing the castle’s vineyards, historic cellars, and Italianate gardens. The castle’s Renaissance dining hall was the setting for dinner. Indulge in a curated tasting of four wines from the cellar: IGT Toscana Rosè, Chianti Classico, Chianti Classico Riserva, and Chianti Classico Gran Selezione. Accompanying a four-course Tuscan dinner featuring seasonal recipes: pasta appetizer, first course, main course, and homemade dessert. I awoke on the morning of the sixth day of our family vacation, after an excellent day, and stepped outside the Castle Family Apartment to savor a cappuccino and Cuban cigar. I found this view so captivating that I could admire it throughout my retirement. The scenario is reminiscent of the 1995 Hollywood movie titled “A Walk in the Clouds,” which featured Keanu Reeves. Only this walk is in Tuscany, Italy. Bellissima!

Just an enchanting place. My first time in Tuscany ( excluding Florence ) and second place we stayed on this trip. Property is spectacular. Views are gorgeous. Chianti Classico DOGC is great. Both breakfast ( included ) and dinner is spectacular. Property is well kept and room was spectacular. We got the villa attached to their church and not the castle. Very private. Enjoyed smoking a cigar in from of property taking in the sun. Hidden gem. Pool is spectacular.
