One of the best restaurants we’ve been to. The food was truly exceptional (Michelin star worthy), the view and atmosphere amazing, and the service was welcoming and professional. Salvatore was especially kind and attentive to our needs and made dining here a memorable experience. Definitely one we would revisit next time we’re in Naples.

Beautiful location. Michelin star restaurant with great food. Tasting menu was excellent. Only bit surprised by the sneaky manner in which wine tasting was added to our experience without explicitly stating the extra cost (70 euro). All good If they tell in advance. Go and enjoy. The food is excellent.

The panoramic terrace, overlooking the gulf and Castel Dell'Ovo alone is worth the price, obviously not a park given the location and the star of the restaurant. Refined dishes, with a skilful reinterpretation of Neapolitan cuisine in an artistic way, such as beef tartare in the shape of Vesuvius and a fried yolk that represents the Neapolitan sun. Discreet and attentive presence of the dining room staff, however friendly and helpful. Recommended for those who want to enjoy an exceptional view and have a non-trivial culinary experience, but at a price that is not within everyone's budget.

I am a customer who, on important occasions, chooses Terrace Caruso to celebrate.
Giovanni, Vincenzo and Armando welcome me, and obviously they will welcome you, in the best way, making you feel at ease.
Chef Giovanni will transport you into a world of riots of flavors that your palate will hardly be able to forget.

I didn't want to change the review made previously but add the one relating to tonight's evening 8/9/2024.
Location always beautiful and with attention to detail.
Expansion of the service, perhaps too present, which eliminates that touch of privacy needed on special evenings where the atmosphere must be soft and not invasive.
Discordant note, and I really regret this, the first dish I ordered where the flavor of the fish, in this case the sea urchin, which should have excelled and reached the taste buds immediately, was totally covered by the intense flavor of the creaming made with butter and maybe even some cheese. PS there was no mention of the presence of these ingredients on the menu.
I replace the order with the starter previously taken by my wife, very good, because the Chef was unable to give me a valid alternative to a first course without butter and cheese.
I had to write about what happened because reviews must be honest and truthful.
Terrazza Caruso remains one of the most evocative locations in Naples but my overall opinion has changed compared to last year.

Every July 29th, my wife and I celebrate our wedding anniversary at the Caruso restaurant of the Grand Hotel Vesuvio, a place that has become an unmissable tradition for us. Describing the location is difficult except through photos which capture the magic of this wonderful place, directly overlooking the Castel dell'Ovo, one of the most fascinating places in Naples. The view is simply breathtaking and helps make the experience even more special.
The location is modern, warm and elegantly furnished. However, what made this dinner truly special was the menu created by the new starred chef, who collaborates with the restaurant's historic chef. The dishes, already excellent, were further improved, and each course was able to surprise us with refined flavors and new combinations.
We started the evening with a Franciacorta aperitif, followed by a Cervaro della Sala Chardonnay wine. As appetizers, we enjoyed a raw prawn, squid and potato dish, and a revisited Caprese salad. The lemon and sea urchin gnocchi were a sublime first course, while the crusted sea bream for two was the perfect choice for the second course. Between one course and another, the chef delighted us with small culinary surprises that added a touch of magic to the evening.
Particular praise goes to the impeccable service of Salvatore and all his staff. They were attentive to our every need, ensuring our glass was never empty and the table was always clean. The timing in serving the dishes was perfect, allowing us to enjoy each course without rushing.
Overall, it was a wonderful experience that I will certainly continue to repeat over the years with my wife. The surrounding environment and the other customers also contributed to creating a pleasant and relaxed atmosphere, completing an unforgettable evening.

Ogni 29 luglio, io e mia moglie celebriamo il nostro anniversario di matrimonio al ristorante Caruso del Grand Hotel Vesuvio, un luogo che è diventato per noi una tradizione irrinunciabile. Descrivere la location è difficile se non attraverso le foto che catturano la magia di questo posto meraviglioso, affacciato direttamente sul Castel dell’Ovo, uno dei luoghi più affascinanti di Napoli. La vista è semplicemente mozzafiato e contribuisce a rendere l’esperienza ancora più speciale.
La location è moderna, calda ed elegantemente arredata. Tuttavia, ciò che ha reso davvero speciale questa cena è stato il menu creato dal nuovo chef stellato, che collabora con lo storico chef del ristorante. I piatti, già eccellenti, sono stati ulteriormente migliorati, e ogni portata ha saputo sorprenderci con sapori raffinati e abbinamenti inediti.
Abbiamo iniziato la serata con un aperitivo Franciacorta, seguito da un vino Chardonnay Cervaro della Sala. Come antipasti, abbiamo gustato un crudo di gamberi, totani e patate, e una insalata caprese rivisitata. Gli gnocchi al limone e ricci sono stati un primo piatto sublime, mentre l’orata in crosta per due è stata la scelta perfetta per il secondo. Tra una portata e l’altra, lo chef ci ha deliziato con piccole sorprese culinarie che hanno aggiunto un tocco di magia alla serata.
Un plauso particolare va al servizio impeccabile di Salvatore e tutto il suo staff. Sono stati attenti a ogni nostra esigenza, garantendo che il nostro bicchiere non fosse mai vuoto e che il tavolo fosse sempre pulito. Il tempismo nel servire i piatti è stato perfetto, permettendoci di gustare ogni portata senza fretta.
In generale, è stata un’esperienza meravigliosa che sicuramente continuerò a ripetere negli anni con mia moglie. Anche l’ambiente circostante e gli altri clienti hanno contribuito a creare un’atmosfera piacevole e rilassata, completando una serata indimenticabile.
