Caruso Roof Garden Restaurant In Napoli

Every July 29th, my wife and I celebrate our wedding anniversary at the Caruso restaurant of the Grand Hotel Vesuvio, a place that has become an unmissable tradition for us. Describing the location is difficult except through photos which capture the magic of this wonderful place, directly overlooking the Castel dell'Ovo, one of the most fascinating places in Naples. The view is simply breathtaking and helps make the experience even more special. The location is modern, warm and elegantly furnished. However, what made this dinner truly special was the menu created by the new starred chef, who collaborates with the restaurant's historic chef. The dishes, already excellent, were further improved, and each course was able to surprise us with refined flavors and new combinations. We started the evening with a Franciacorta aperitif, followed by a Cervaro della Sala Chardonnay wine. As appetizers, we enjoyed a raw prawn, squid and potato dish, and a revisited Caprese salad. The lemon and sea urchin gnocchi were a sublime first course, while the crusted sea bream for two was the perfect choice for the second course. Between one course and another, the chef delighted us with small culinary surprises that added a touch of magic to the evening. Particular praise goes to the impeccable service of Salvatore and all his staff. They were attentive to our every need, ensuring our glass was never empty and the table was always clean. The timing in serving the dishes was perfect, allowing us to enjoy each course without rushing. Overall, it was a wonderful experience that I will certainly continue to repeat over the years with my wife. The surrounding environment and the other customers also contributed to creating a pleasant and relaxed atmosphere, completing an unforgettable evening.

The view is beautiful! The atmosphere was TOP! The dishes were also good and the staff always at a high level.

Splendid terrace overlooking the Gulf of Naples. Refined venue. Impeccable service. Good food. I expected something more due to the high expectations that the environment induces. Good wines and Neapolitan fried appetizers.

Posto con vista straordinaria , ambiente raffinato e personale gentilissimo. Prenotiamo per il mio compleanno, due adulti e due bimbe al seguito, che a differenza di altri ristoranti possono accedere tranquillamente. Ci accomodiamo ad un tavolo con vista , e ci serve una ragazza molto gentile. Le portate molto gourmet come quantità sono state tutte molto buone, anche se la parmiggiana lasciava leggermente a desiderare dovendo essere sinceri. I due filetti ,sempre molto gourmet, invece eccezionali. Nel complesso lo consiglio vivamente a chi vuole cenare in un posto raffinato e con una vista da paura. I prezzi in linea con un ristorante di questa portata. Ci rivedremo presto.

La view è bellissima,non c’è che dire. Peccato che gli impiattamenti e la cucina siamo rimasti un po’ indietro con gli anni. Il menù è molto all’antica. Il personale è gentile,ma il punto debole sono i piatti. Le mie linguine al riccio non avevano sapore e mi dispiace molto dirlo. Anche la mozzarella con i pomodori non era un granché. Il carrellino dei dolci è molto old style e non c’era molta scelta, però la pastiera e i cioccolatini erano buoni,anche se non credo siano di loro produzione.
