Cardellino In Bassano del grappa

We had lunch at this restaurant. Excellent service. Cozy environment. Good food, but not much choice. But it's barely worth going there. The staff very courteous.

Despite having frequented Bassano for 40 years, and living there for 15, I had never been to this historic place whose excellent roast beef had been praised to me. I took advantage of a midday time when the kitchen was unusable due to work and I went to try it, receiving a partial disappointment: Nice old place, which always has its charm, friendly staff, excellent quality of food but... the cold roast beef, really cold with the cold sauce, I would have appreciated if at least the seasoning was warm, it's the details that make the difference. The creme caramel was a panna cotta with egg and caramel on top, good, but it wasn't a creme caramel, it's something else entirely. There is the feeling of a certain superficiality in the management, as if the elderly owners were about to sell the place, it may be fine for tourists, but I won't go back.

Experience ni.. very nice historic place, nothing to say, good service, little choice on the food.. obviously there must be traditional Bassano dishes but also some new ones wouldn't hurt, dishes for vegetarians non-existent, or even dishes for children. There were three of us, we ordered a platter for two people, but I think it was only enough for one person, excellent quality cured meats, but the quantity was really low... Then we had some first courses, two plates of Bassano style bigoli and one with ragù of duck, in the first two non-existent sardines, you couldn't even taste them... while for the duck ragù, right quantities, but also little flavour... I give 3 stars, for the historicity of the place, but on the food... we're not there...

Io e il mio compagno siamo stati un week end a fine maggio tra Padova e Bassano del Grappa e, acquistando dei souvenir a Bassano abbiamo chiesto dove si potesse pranzare e ci hanno indicato questo posto. Beh mangiato divinamente piatti tipici della cucina veneta.
