Excellent location, overlooking the stunning bay of Piana di Mattinata.
In a simple seaside setting, a good coffee on a beautiful sunny September day.
The owner is welcoming and hospitable.
After many years, I continue to frequent Caratino, where I appreciate the lunch menu, with dishes and options that are always satisfying. The welcome with slices of pizza and warm local bread is also very welcome.
My favorite dishes: the "guazzetto" with a thin sauce, the spaghetti with clams, the grilled cuttlefish, and the mixed fried fish.
And many other varied and rich options, at fair prices for discerning tourists.

Highly recommended, very charming place, practically a terrace overlooking the sea. Fresh, tasty, well-cooked, and beautifully presented fish; traditional cuisine with many delightful twists. Quick service, friendly staff.

We had lunch and dinner at this delightful restaurant, Il Caratino, overlooking the sea. Its huge windows and flowers make it a relaxing, special, and simple place, just like its owners, starting with Michele and the entire staff, who are truly kind and friendly. The food was excellent, the prices were fair, and the people who helped make our week in Mattinata truly special.
