Cozy and characteristic environment. Traditional but refined food. Excellent choice of wine labels.

Locale consigliatissimo. Prenotazione consigliata sempre.

We had lunch here and were surprised with the exceptional quality of the wines (the family also has a winery nearby) we wanted to visit but it was harvest season and too last minute. The pasta was delicious and the service top notch! We even left with 2 bottles of wine :)

We came to this restaurant to taste the schiciole, we were satisfied, recommended. The coconati were also very good, wide choice of wines, good service but a little slow.

We ate in this place to visit the village which is really very nice.
The food is good even if the portions are a little small, I had the vitello tonnato and I would have happily eaten a little more. The famous Cocconati stuffed with cheese and ham plus butter and walnuts are a bit "heavy", the ones with sausage sauce were certainly less difficult to digest. Having tasted both, I preferred the latter.
The schiciole were much appreciated as were the tajarin and the guinea fowl leg with summer black scorzone eaten by the only person at the table who liked truffles.
Honestly, we would have preferred to have a little more choice on the menu.
What we really didn't like was being forced, due to lack of alternatives, to take bottled wine, the price of which was a minimum of 22 euros, as the place does not offer bulk wine. This inevitably increased the amount of our lunch significantly. We went there in mid-August and it was very, very hot so one bottle for 4 people just wasn't enough. Furthermore, the natural water, 2 euros for a bottle of water at room temperature, was so hot that on August 15th you could cook two spaghetti in it!
Another absolutely negative thing was a large dead black insect in front of the bathroom door. I understand that it can happen, it's a cellar and it had recently rained but it is NOT at all pleasant to see in a place where food is served. I ask the winery managers to be more careful.

A great restaurant in Cocconato, go there with your eyes closed, it’s 100% validated.
A nice setting with bottles of wine everywhere and a cellar that you can visit. There is therefore a very nice wine list by the bottle and by the glass (there is local wine from local with wine produced in the town itself).
The food is great, well mastered, tasty and fine, a treat from start to finish.
