Splendid location with a superb view Excellent cuisine

The place is panoramic, with beautiful big windows to enjoy the panorama of the waves on Barratti’s gulf. The service was good: quiet, minimal, always kind and with a smile. The food was really good. The risotto was fine but what impressed me was the Mixed Fry: super crunchy, light, beautiful to behold and so tasty to eat. One of the best I have ever had. The place is not cheap but I definitely recommend it.

It's always been a beautiful place, but unfortunately, it's changed dramatically under the new management. The elegant and clean atmosphere offers a consistently pleasant view, which is one of the restaurant's strong points. The service is very courteous, with friendly and attentive staff, but they clearly haven't been trained in waiter etiquette, which is a shame. Even the most basic rules are missing, such as not passing your plate in front of a customer's face, or worse, starting to clear the table while someone is still eating—a truly annoying and serious issue for a restaurant of this caliber. Hopefully, with practice, they'll be able to pay more attention. As for the food, it's undoubtedly of a high standard. It's a shame about the slip-up on the fillet stroganoff, which simply isn't stroganoff at all, but something completely invented by the chef. It would be more accurate to point out, for example, that it's served with a sauce that lacks key ingredients like sour cream, mustard, or mushrooms. Most importantly, a fillet covered in Tuscan crostini dough is unsightly; the stroganoff would turn in its grave (and what if I don't like liver?). In short, if you want to be creative, no problem, but make sure to mention it on the menu, otherwise you'll score an own goal. The fried fish is good, crispy and dry, the tuna tartare with truffles is good, and the stuffed squid is acceptable. We'll gladly return, because the place deserves it and we've grown fond of it. Take the positive reviews as a suggestion for improvement.

Where to begin? There are no words to express our enormous gratitude to Matteo and his entire team. La Canessa has become synonymous with home for us; after celebrating our wedding there, we've returned several times to relive that moment! For our wedding, in coordination with Matteo, we opted for an appetizer buffet, primarily seafood, which our guests enjoyed while we took photos, along with excellent cocktails! Afterward, we continued the lunch with a seafood first course and fried fish! Every guest was delighted with the menu, even those who didn't eat seafood, and the wine pairing. The table settings were also beautiful, simple, and coordinated with our decorations. La Canessa exceeded our every expectation, becoming a magical place where we're always happy to return! We highly recommend La Canessa as a venue for a private event like ours or for a simple visit when you're in the area! Thank you so much everyone!

Refined food, beautifully presented. Awesome sea view. Attentive and fast service. Excellent golden cod and seafood spaghetti, perfectly cooked and very well seasoned. Dessert: apple pie with custard and a delicious ice cream sphere. Prices are a bit high, but considering the presentation and quality, I'd say they're reasonable. I recommend

Beautiful sea view, great food and great service.

After years, my husband and I are returning to this restaurant, which, despite it being the first day of the year 2026, lives up to our high expectations. Beautiful and well-kept restaurant with a spectacular view. The food was excellent, the fish was beautifully cooked and presented. The staff was attentive and knowledgeable. Thank you so much. Excellence in every way, quality/price perfectly in line... I recommend also trying the stay in the Canessa rooms adjacent to the restaurant, an addictive experience!
