Camping Lou Dahu In Canosio

Lou Dahou is beautifully located in the Maira Valley, great views of the mountains. The pitches are spacious and well demarcated by wooden beams. You can sit nicely on the building's terrace. There is a shop with regional products, you can find everything you need here. There is good fresh bread and croissants to buy. We will be back! Were there for a few days at the end of September. The German owners are happy to give tips for things to do in the region.

Mega backdrop in the middle of the mountains. Tipis, tents and simple mobile homes, the fascination of nature. Excellent meat and beer specialties from the region... My insider tip for hikers and mountain bikers 👍.

A campsite in a beautiful location with courteous care from the nice owner couple. Good cuisine, not cheap but high quality and tasty. The sanitary facilities in the off-season are clean and good.

Siamo stati in questo camping per diversi giorni con l’idea di vivere la meravigliosa Val Maira. Spazio molto bello, verde, circondato da montagne e con un cielo stellato mozzafiato. Siamo stati in tenda e ci siamo trovati bene, nessuno ha recato a noi alcun tipo di disturbo. Inoltre, il camping è vicino a diversi ristoranti sia a Marmora sia a Canosio. Ho tolto una stella perché ci siamo sentiti molto distanti dallo spirito severo, rigido e poco permissivo dei gestori. Molto lontana dalla nostra idea di campeggio. Preferiamo un campeggio meno organizzato, ma che accolga piacevolmente i viaggiatori senza imporre regole assurde e prezzi anche sull’aria che si respira. Però, mi sento comunque di consigliarlo.

Abbiamo soggiornato in questo campeggio per 3 notti con la nostra tenda. Posizione perfetta per visitare in lungo e in largo la bellissima Valle Maira. Piazzole comode e veramente spaziose, disponibilità di spazi comuni come area bbq e tavoli da picnic, personale sempre gentile e sorridente. Unica pecca, la pulizia dei bagni che viene eseguita solo due volte la settimana..nel complesso ci siamo comunque trovati benissimo e torneremo!

This was such a find- very friendly and helpful owners / staff. Nice food in the shop- rustic bread and salami/ sausages /steak kebabs/ice cream. The nearby villages are lovely and the mountains are stunning. We took a large caravan and made it up the narrow road/ tunnels! Lake Nero is amazing and although cold worth a swim - it’s a hike to get there. If you like MTB then the Napoleonica was good fun- manageable if you do blue/red runs in the UK. There are plenty of rock pools to enjoy. At night you can see gloworms/ Firefly’s -in the trees. If You have right equipment there is a good Via Ferrata not far away- there is a difficult bit early on so we walked up and did the 3rd stage and the Bridge but you can miss this if you want to.
