24/02/2026: Excellent bar with comfortable interiors and unique furnishings. Beautiful signs, billboards, and vintage neon signs.
Adequate prices and excellent service.
16/02/2026: We stayed one night at Matteotti 25 in Turin with my family: wife, two children, and mother-in-law.
We arrived at the Ballantines bar, where the owner was waiting for us. A gentleman with a Savoy appearance, sober, elegant, and highly educated. From the first glance, you sense his authentic connection to the place and his desire to preserve its memory, never letting it slip into oblivion.
The bar itself reflects this philosophy: a setting rich with references to the past, meticulously crafted, capable of recounting stories and traditions. A place that seems to encapsulate one of the many facets of the Turin soul—discreet, composed, yet intense and distinctive.
We were then accompanied to the apartment by Gianluca, the owner's assistant: refined, polite, and endowed with great initiative. With affability and helpfulness, he explained every necessary detail to us. A genuine synergy between the owner and the staff is clearly evident: a harmonious and complementary collaboration, where memory and efficiency blend in a well-orchestrated welcome.
The breakfast deserves a special mention: truly spectacular: plentiful, varied, and carefully prepared. But what made it special was the atmosphere. The kindness of the owner and Gianluca transformed that moment into something palpable and intimate, far removed from the coldness of impersonal service.
We would also like to highlight the presence of the owner's sister, a lady of rare kindness, reminiscent of the women of the past, the housewives: a discreet yet essential presence, capable of conveying warmth, care, and a sense of family.
It is certainly a place we highly recommend. And we are certain that, as soon as life allows, we will return to experience once again the mysteries and nuances of an extraordinary city like Turin.
