Caffe Sabrina In Casale monferrato

27/02/2024: I had dinner with my partner after having waited a long time for this moment and perhaps too much expectation was disappointed. Historic place in Tortona, with a slightly retro 80s location, but which can also be enjoyed. The tables and the distances between them are beautiful. Quick and attentive service, performed with trolleys, something I haven't seen for many years. Good selection of wines, local menu although not very sophisticated I would have expected something more. We took a real plate of raw fish with the addition of some oysters, we had the impression that the 3 types of prawns had no taste of the sea, they seemed to have been washed precisely to remove the taste of the sea, so we didn't like them. The stracotto agnolotti were excellent, certainly the best dish of the evening, while the tagliolini with truffle, artichokes and Montebore tasted only like cheese. The time for desserts arrives... we are presented with 3 carts of each dessert, which I really appreciate, since I have the opportunity to see before ordering. We taste the babà, the tart and a cake with Chantilly. Good but none to leave a good memory. Total bill €150 without receipt which leaves me stunned, we are still at these levels.

17/02/2024: My expectations were abundantly rewarded, excellent restaurant in an elegant and well-kept environment, excellent service.....in short, everything was perfect
