After a pleasant wandering around Cortona, in search of a shady corner where to rest our oozing carcasses, we ended up settling on the terrace of a small café which had just opened. It was at Caffé la Saletta (translation: the small room?!) that we ordered coffee and peach ice tea. The little waitress, incidentally friendly, brought us a coffee... and a local lemon tea, saying it was really good. Stunned by the fait accompli, we accepted the proposal and, my time, the cold drink was good. As I went to powder my nose, I appreciated the beauty of the place: well-kept, clean, "cosy" (I don't really like this anglicism, but for lack of anything better). As I passed the cash register, I went to pay my dues: €2 + €4 = suspense... €6. Also, when leaving, I couldn't remember a little expression that we have, in the south (of France): Oh, stupid...

Caffe Bar Signorelli

10/12/2024: I had breakfast in this bar as soon as I arrived in Cortona. The owner welcomed me with kindness and professionalism. Very good pastries and lattes, the price perhaps a little exaggerated. However, I would recommend it for the niceness of the person at the counter.
28/09/2024: Me encantó este lugar. La pareja que lo posee y la ubicación en la plaza son maravillosos; y el camarero trabaja muy duro para atender a los clientes rápidamente, ya que constantemente hay gente entrando y saliendo! Un gran lugar.

Trattoria la chiocciola

12/10/2024: I have been to this campsite on two occasions, once in a tent, once in a mobile home. The pitches are large and easily accessible and the bathroom/shower area is very clean. The swimming pools are also clean, here too there is ample space for everyone (even on weekends although the swimming pools are open to outsiders). Everywhere (at the receptionist, at the small restaurant that offers some simple dishes, in the pool bar, in interactions with the lifeguards) I found a lot of friendliness and helpfulness. Excellent both for exploring the area spending nights in the cool (at the end of July, I slept in a light sleeping bag in the tent), and for relaxing and sunbathing.
16/09/2024: Good pitches with electricity, water, sink. Toilets without coat hooks, no shelves. Internet almost non-existent. It's just fine for one night. Otherwise less recommended.
