Peppe, Enea, Tony - the Dream Team - the trifecta of super baristas.. Top notch, quality, excellent cappuccini to start the day - served with professionalism and love for their craft. Each day during our visit, my partner and I enjoyed two cappucci at the counter - it was such an agreeable experience to look around at the elegant interior of Caffe Gilli, savor the morning brioche (croissant) and sip our cappucci while watching people come and go - locals and tourists. The Team moved behind the counter effortlessly, and served, cleared and kept the counter spotless. It was truly a wonderful expererience to watch - and the partries served were heavenly.. refined, elegant, attractive and oh so yummmmmy! It is the ideal place to stand and soak in the whole delightfully-caffeinated experience.. I can definitely recommend this Caffe, their products and their amazing staff.

I'm glad I came here as soon as I arrived in Florence because I could taste this quality steak at this price... The wine price seems reasonable, and the servers are very friendly and ask if I need anything else. I'm especially happy to see a Korean manager. :) The store is also spacious, so even if there are a lot of people, the atmosphere is relaxed! If you want to taste a good steak, I recommend it. The location is also nice...

Coffee really good, but overcrowded tourist place 😬, what else..

Lovely place, the food was amazing we ordered the omelet, scrambled eggs, pancakes, and cappuccinos. the atmosphere was amazing we sat outdoors. As for the service, it was nice but it felt understaffed, our waiter was so busy he kept forgetting about us.

Situato nel cuore di Firenze, in Piazza della Repubblica, il Caffè Gilli è un’istituzione storica che risale al 1733. Con il suo elegante ambiente in stile Liberty, rappresenta un punto di riferimento per chi desidera immergersi nell’atmosfera raffinata della città. Durante una recente visita con la mia famiglia, abbiamo deciso di concederci una colazione in questo rinomato locale. La qualità dei prodotti è indiscutibile: cornetti fragranti, caffè aromatico e una selezione di dolci che testimoniano l’eccellenza della pasticceria italiana. Tuttavia, i prezzi sono decisamente elevati; una colazione qui può facilmente equivalere al costo di un pranzo in un ristorante di lusso. Considerando la posizione privilegiata e la notorietà del locale, è comprensibile, e probabilmente adotterei la stessa politica se fossi il gestore, soprattutto visto il continuo afflusso di clienti e la fila all’ingresso. Un aspetto meno soddisfacente è stato il servizio, risultato lento e non all’altezza delle aspettative, specialmente in relazione ai prezzi praticati. In sintesi, il Caffè Gilli offre un’esperienza unica per una colazione speciale, da concedersi occasionalmente. Per frequentazioni più assidue, potrebbe risultare impegnativo, a meno di non disporre di risorse economiche adeguate.

Erano alcuni anni che mancavo da Firenze ma ricordavo una tappa fissa in Piazza della Repubblica per un caffè da Gilli. Solita eleganza e raffinatezza del bancone e pasticceria. Caffè Illy squisito. Ottimi i ricciarelli, la torta della nonna e le sfogline. Sempre al top!
