Caffè degli Artisti In Asti

We were drawn to this place by its name and location. A special mention goes to the waitress who served us: she was extremely kind, professional, cheerful, and extremely helpful, a true asset to the place. Unfortunately, the sour note came from inside the bar. I don't know if it was the owner or an employee, but from inside came incessant, inhumane shouting, accompanied by decidedly inappropriate and out-of-place jokes. This little exchange created a very awkward moment and definitely ruined the atmosphere, which for a place called "Caffè degli Artisti" (Artists' Café), one might have expected to be more welcoming or at least calm. It's a shame, because the table service deserved top marks. And the aperitif was truly delicious! I hope it was just an isolated incident and that some professionalism and composure can be found behind the bar as well.

Friendly service and a very good aperitivo. Good location.

Excellent veal tonè, excellent toasted sandwiches with pastrami and raschera cheese, excellent wines. And very friendly owners, including Guido. :-)
