We sat down in a street garden on our way to the Colosseum. The menu is quite simple, but all the dishes we chose were 10/10. As for the service, it seemed a bit chaotic, with some tension among the crew, but ultimately everything was fine.

I popped into this café to use the restroom and decided to try an unfamiliar dessert. I ordered the pani which was delightful. The sweetness of the whipped cream balanced nicely with the soft, fresh bread. Beyond the pastry, what truly made the experience wonderful was the manager’s genuine kindness. Their kindness brought out the best in the staff and patrons, including myself. I left feeling genuinely grateful for this little establishment. Highly recommended.

We visited Rome for a short holiday and, while walking through the city centre near the Colosseum, we came across this restaurant. Outside, there was a menu offering a variety of options, including both pizza and pasta, so we decided to stop in for a pizza. Upon entering, we were warmly welcomed by a staff member who suggested we could dine on the rooftop terrace. We thought it sounded like a lovely idea and happily went upstairs, planning to start with a drink and then enjoy dinner. The venue itself is quite large, spread over multiple floors, and at the time it was not too busy, which made for a pleasant atmosphere. The rooftop in particular is a beautiful space, clean, well-kept, and with a nice view. However, once seated, when we were ready to order, we were informed that pizza was not available on the rooftop and could only be ordered downstairs. We found this quite unusual and honestly a bit confusing, as it doesn’t seem very practical to separate the menu in this way depending on where you sit. As we didn’t want to disrupt what was otherwise a lovely evening, we decided to stay and ordered pasta instead, along with a couple of spritzes. From that point on, the service unfortunately did not meet expectations. The staff seemed inexperienced and somewhat unsure, items like cutlery and napkins were brought at different times, and we had to ask more than once for basic things. Overall, the service felt disorganised and lacking attention to detail. That said, the food itself was genuinely very good. We really enjoyed the pasta, which was well prepared and full of flavour. At the end of the meal, we were asked to go downstairs to pay, which added to the overall sense of disorganisation. There was minimal interaction at the cashier as well, with little engagement or interest in our experience. It was also difficult to imagine how this system would work if the restaurant were busy, as guests are required to go downstairs to pay, potentially having to queue. Additionally, the staff managing the cashier area appeared more focused on their own conversation than on the customers. During the payment process, there was very limited acknowledgment, we were neither engaged with nor really looked at, which made the experience feel somewhat impersonal.
In summary, the restaurant has a lovely atmosphere, a beautiful setting, and very good food. However, the service and overall organisation could be significantly improved to match the quality of the location and cuisine.
