Caffe Bianchi In Firenze

It's a nice place, but the prices are exaggerated, 6 euros for a 33cl peroni, even if the place is old or close to a tourist site, I don't know if it's worth the trick.

Stopped in for a caffè corretto. The owner was a nice guy. All the bad reviews just mean he’s not there to please you, as far as I can tell. I appreciate these kinds of bars, that remain in every city, but which are fading in time. Historic interiors, no nonsense professionalism, idiosyncratic character and charisma. Some reviews talk about overcharging, but they all seem to be talking about table service, which is always more expensive in Europe. Better to stand at the bar, like a local, drink your coffee, try speaking a little Italian, and have a sense of humour. He was a good guy, the drink was right, the price fair.

Ok, good coffee, nice snacks, old decor, friendly service, €4 for coffee....

The coffee is great and the guys working here have always been "molto gentile" (= kind) to me. I'm grateful that I can pick up my Amazon packages here - it's a big help! Yes, the cost to sit down is more than standing at the bar. This is normal for many bars and cafeterias here. Just ask for clarity if necessary.
