Cafe Merenda In Roma

I love this place! It's small and cozy, highly recommended. The people at the counter are always very nice, and you can stay inside and read/study as long as you want! If I could give you a suggestion, I'd add some cake/cheesecake options to the menu, since I never find any, but maybe I just wasn't lucky :)

The food was good, the service was fast and the atmosphere was welcoming, perhaps the prices were a little high.

Forget the coffee at the counter, the newspaper, and the clatter of cups. This is like visiting a friend at home... with the added bonus of the amazing food!

I have hunted down excellent coffee around the world - San Francisco, New York, Italy, Japan, Toronto, Vancouver, CDMX, etc. I had one of the best cappuccinos of my life here. It was so good I asked for an espresso after which was obviously excellent. And reasonably priced!

Nice place, friendly service, and delicious desserts. The Pan Suisse is well-made, the Veneziana is superb, and the pastry is crispy without being overly buttery or overcooked. A few flaws with some of the dishes (like the lemon curd, which wasn't at all light), but overall, a great place for breakfast.

We went here for breakfast and the experience was overall pleasant. The pastries are really good, and there's a great variety to choose from. The cappuccinos are good, though average. The service, unfortunately, could be improved: we waited about 30 minutes because they couldn't find us inside the shop and therefore couldn't serve us. Only after we asked did the situation resolve itself. Considering the rather high prices, one would expect slightly more attentive customer service.

A cozy café on a side street off Via Ostiense with a view of the Gasometro. Best croissant in Rome. Try the cream one. Super original coffee cups. It feels like home. Friendly and discreet staff.

Everything was supreme. From the coffee, to the desserts, the cups, and the guys. We each had a puff pastry, with a delicate cream and raspberry jam where the raspberry was truly delicious. The pastry was incredible, but despite the amount of butter, it wasn't heavy or cloying, perfect. We then decided to share a third dessert, a pan suisse, supreme. The guys were so kind; I could have continued trying anything. Anyone who complains about the prices is simply not appreciating or recognizing the quality of the ingredients and the work that goes into them. I would challenge any of them to try to make such masterpieces. You are all fantastic, all of you and your products. We will definitely be back, and I will recommend anyone I know in the area to stop by.
