Such a pure average, pasta Carbona..if I were Italian I would have something else, but nothing was recommended to us. The staff probably doesn't like foreigners out of season, when they found out that we don't speak full Italian, it was kind of abrupt in the communication. Otherwise, classic 4 euro service everywhere. Nothing much in the middle. Next time, probably something else...

My favorite restaurant in Ostia for traditional Roman food.
The carbonara is delicious. Not too heavy, and the guanciale is cooked perfectly.
The amatriciana is exquisite and my favorite I've had in Italy. If you want, you can ask for a bib because bucatini with red sauce and a white shirt don't go well together.
The desserts are homemade, and you can taste it. The tiramisu is made with Osvego biscuits. Typical Roman, and I was speechless. The cream is like gold.
The service is welcoming, and if you need advice, they know all about good food and wine.
The atmosphere is like an osteria: rustic, authentic, and traditional. I recommend booking because it's always crowded.

The food quality is really good, above average. The menu is basic, but if you ask for anything off the menu, they say "they don't have it," even the simplest things like a simple cutlet or chicken breast.
Regarding the service, it's fast, but we didn't like the fact that the cutlery wasn't replaced. Even if you left it on your plate, the waiter comes over, removes it from the plate, sets it aside, and takes your plate. I find this unacceptable.
Aside from that, the carbonara was amazing! Everything was really good. I recommend it if your only expectation is excellent food.
