Went several times during my stay in Trieste. I took with my friends the group dishes of mixed boiled meat and sausages. Decent quality of food, great atmosphere, friendly service and available for a joke.

The place was recommended to us by some Trieste passers-by on the street, and it was an excellent recommendation. It is historic, famous for boiled meats, even in summer 😅 in addition to boiled meats you can get sandwiches filled with your choice, with a great variety of choices. It doesn't cost much, but the trick is wanting to try different things, in this way you don't even realize that you are accumulating a good amount. The sandwich costs €6, but with just one you won't be satisfied. In the end, the 4 of us spent €98. It is right in the center, next to Piazza Unità d' Italia. It is absolutely worth trying!

For what it is, the food is really tasty but it won't blow your mind or your budget. Their house specialty boiled meat plate gives you so many tasty options and I found their melanzana and zucchini plate to be well seasoned too. Glass of house wine in June 2025 was under 3€. Worth a stop!

Historic restaurant in Trieste, loved and known by all, a place that has been offering excellent food to the people of Trieste for decades. Even though it has now become a popular spot for tourists, the service remains first class. A true institution in Trieste.

Buffet storico forse ora un pochino turistico, ma siamo turisti… piatti buoni e abbondanti, prezzi giusti. Forse un po’ insistenti nel voler consigliare il piatto tipico bollito misto…

18/06/2025: We needed sausages, ham and sauerkraut before leaving Trieste and this is the place to satisfy that need. Highly recommend for that type of food. Service was fast and friendly; patio seating very nice on a warm breezy evening.
14/06/2025: This place was amazing! The food is fresh and delicious, plus the staff will pack the food away for you. Drinks are cheap and tasty, I love a good red wine. Service was fast and the servers can speak Italian and English.
