The "temple" of pork. Succulent meats and a wide selection. The "cotto caldo" (hot ham) is a must. The curly-haired blonde waitress is friendly and helpful.

Our first dinner in Trieste, a must-try, many tell us, is boiled meat. We took their advice and ordered a mixed boiled meat dish and beer for two in this small, quaint restaurant. The horseradish sauce got top marks, truly delicious and perfectly complementing the meat served. Service, especially considering the nature of the dishes, was incredibly fast. The strudel was good, but more like an apple pie. Prices were moderately high for the food, but unfortunately, in line with the rest of the city.

This is a historic restaurant, whose history is evident in the quality of the dishes offered, but the service is lacking. Although fast, it feels rushed and doesn't allow you to fully enjoy the food. Reservations aren't possible; the wait is physical, but not particularly long. We went around 2:00 PM and waited 10 minutes before being seated, even though the restaurant wasn't particularly large. This is due to the speed of service, which certainly has its pros and cons.

Neither good nor bad. Monotonous menu, only two desserts. They don't serve coffee, never happened before. The staff is friendly.

Authentic Trieste cuisine. Shareable plates, that are priced just right. This is a non smoking restaurant for those non-smokers. Food came out very quickly, and was delicious.

12/11/2025: Excellent Sunday lunch, very filling, and very friendly service. We tried a bit of everything; the pork shank was very good (perhaps a little lacking in sauce) and the Bohemian gnocchi were superb. The desserts were also good. A little pricey, but nothing special. Highly recommended.
05/11/2025: Typical Trieste cuisine and craft beer, great attention to the finest ingredients, and a quaint atmosphere. Worth a try.

12/11/2025: One of the best buffets in Trieste! The giulianska was delicious, and the potato gnocchi with ragù were also very good. The service wasn't very friendly, but honestly, I don't care that much; the important thing is that the food was good. I should point out that there were two of us and we went on a Sunday for lunch, around 12:30, without a reservation. However, I recommend booking to be sure.
10/11/2025: Delicious food in a traditional restaurant in the center of Trieste; special mention for the tiramisu—you can't find anything this good anymore. The owner has a great sense of humor (for those who know how to appreciate it).
