Excellent venue! Delicious cooked food, friendly staff, clean place, good prices! As soon as I pass by I can't help but stop to get a cooked sandwich with mustard and kren.

Be sure to go when you come to Trieste. There are about 3-4 menu items of the day for about 8 euros per meal (each menu is slightly different, but in any case, it is 10 euros less as of March 2025), and above all, the owner is friendly and speaks good English! On the first day, I went there not long before dinner was finished, and even though they had cleaned up everything, they made cicchetti for me. When I went to eat lunch today, they recognized me right away, said hi again, and explained the menu in full. When I said I wanted to try Trieste's traditional food, he also recommended a menu!! 🥰🥰🥰🥰

22/08/2025: It was a last-minute decision; unfortunately, there was only a small menu, but everything tasted good and the staff were friendly.
18/07/2025: Easiest 5 stars. We came here without expecting much looking at other reviews, were we in for a treat! The host is a sort of Italian Robin Williams combining a unique dynamic flair, easy hospitality and personal interaction. This seems to reflect in the food that is not just tasty, made and presented with attention but also engaging and interesting. Loved the spaghetti with black garlic, and the pasta with goulash was to die for. Not to mention the lasagnetta with pesto and pea sprouts on top. Served with excellent local Vitovska wine and an excellent tiramisu this lunch approaches what is for me the perfect restaurant experience.
