This place never disappoints. We came here over 20 years ago and now returned with our daughter to celebrate her birthday—and to share the experience of the unforgettable bistecca alla Fiorentina. They gave us a cozy private room and even welcomed our little dog, which made the night even more special. The food, the atmosphere, the warmth—it’s just as wonderful as we remembered. We’ve recommended Buca Lapi to family and friends for years, and we always will. A true Florence favorite.

Among the many Florence T-bone steakhouses, I had a hard time deciding which one to go to. I wanted to go to a local restaurant because Jaja or Dal Oste are so famous and cater to Korean tastes.
That's why I chose Bucarapi. As expected from a high-end restaurant, the service was really good.
When I went in, a manager-like person guided me and confirmed my reservation, and they assigned me a seat in the back, which was nice.
Since I don't speak English well, I think it would have been really uncomfortable to sit in the middle, but they assigned me to the edge of the main room, which was nice.
I ordered T-bone steak for two, pasta, and potato puree. Everyone... this pasta... I saw a local grandfather eating it and asked what it was, so I ordered it, and it was really delicious. It's called Bucarapi, and it's a ravioli bismuri with meat-like stuffing inside, but it's cream-based.
As you eat it, steak comes out, and the lean meat is cut into sirloin and given to women, and the part with the bone attached seems to be given to men. Sensegood..
Since it was so much for 2 people, I ate about 4/5 and left itㅜㅜ It was so much and greasy, so I couldn't eat any more. But it was so delicious.. It was really crazy.. It melts in your mouth.
Rare is not rare. It's not chewy at all ^^
The side dish was recommended as a red wine, Chianti, so I drank 1.5 bottles.
The server was very friendly and gave off a sense of being concise. It seemed professional, so I could trust it.
The manager went around the table and asked how the food tasted, but he didn't come because he knew we couldn't speak Englishㅋ
We ordered apple pie for dessert.
The 귾뒈 돠루른폠이불 was fried and served with 롸롸밍싱슈브스쥬시둣ꑣꑣꑣ and didn't give us any more. I had to order it separately...
Anyway, it was a little spicy, but it was delicious, so it was good ^^
I really liked the server.

Food and service were great. We got the cannelloni, wild boar pappardelle, florentine steak with spinach and potatoes and chicken cacciatore. The steak was really rare but I think that’s just how the Florentine steak is served.

We didn’t have a reservation and they were fully booked out but because we got there at opening at 7pm the host gave us a table which wasn’t reserved until 8:45pm which was so nice and lots of time for us to eat our meal!! We ate right at the front of the restaurant which was a little too quiet. I think if we’d been more in the back the atmosphere would’ve been perfect. That being said it was beautiful and the gnocchi we had was incredible. The Florentine steak (even the portion for 1 was enough for 2) was good as well and the roasted potatoes were INSANE. I almost dropped to my knees they were so good. Overall a beautiful, more upscale place that I’d recommend to anyone - just book a reso!!

Excelente comida en el "Restaurante más antiguo" de Florencia. Buca Lapi tiene un comedor único con decoraciones de patrón en carteles de viaje. La comida es tradicional y deliciosa. El servicio es bueno.
Empezamos con el fresco Maltagliati al basilico e pomodoro y el Canelón gratinati alla Buca Lapi. Ambas eran delicias de sabor completo.
Para nuestro plato fuerte, tuvimos el Osso Buco y el Polpette. Rico, sabroso y lleno.
Quedaba un poco de espacio así que compartimos el pastel de chocolate negro. Acabado perfecto.
Restaurante muy agradable con maravillosa comida toscana y el servicio a juego.
