Buca Lapi In Firenze

Recently in Florence and wanted a Florentine Steak. Reviews say this is the place…and they were right. The food and atmosphere is old world Italian. The owner made a great attempt to get me in after being fully reserved. If you’re looking for authentic Italian and atmosphere, this is the place.

I found this restaurant after reading a travel book. The wine I tried was excellent, and the T-bone steak was delicious. 😊 Two people can eat a T-bone, a pasta dish, and a salad, and it's incredibly filling.💗

This was our best meal in Florence. We had wine, pasta, and the steak was the best we tried. True authentic Italian and not commercialized like many other restaurants. Highly recommend Buca Lapi.

I made a reservation for the evening of October 4th. They confirmed my reservation and showed me to my table. While there were a few Korean tables, most of the guests were locals or foreigners. We ordered tomato gnocchi and T-bone steak. I asked for a wine pairing, and the waiter was kind enough to recommend one. They also helped me with the wine tasting. After we ordered, they asked, "Sharing?" Since I was planning to share with my husband, I said yes. They even divided the gnocchi and steak into two plates for easier sharing. 🥹 I thought they were just asking about the table setting. I didn't get the name of the waiter who served our table, so I don't know, but he was incredibly kind and welcoming, and we had a wonderful dinner thanks to them. (I regret not being able to tip because I didn't have any cash. 🥲)

The internet isn't working, but the steak just melts in your mouth. If two people order a large portion of meat, they'll explode. LOL Order one serving of meat, a main dish, and mashed potatoes as a side. ㅜㅜThe tenderloin just melts in your mouth.

Chicken cacciatore, house made pasta, good bottle of wine, and chocolate cake for dessert. All absolutely amazing.

Buca Lapi was the food highlight of our visit to Florence. Every element of the experience was excellent. First, the service was stellar from the moment we arrived. Our server, Franca, was extremely knowledgable, friendly, and professional. She helped us choose a wonderful bottle of wine (picture included) and explained the menu in great detail. Next, the food was amazing -- we loved the pasta (tagliatelle with porcini mushrooms), chicken cacciatore, and Florentine steak.. Make sure you visit this restaurant when you stay in Florence -- you won't regret it (especially if Franca is your server).

Très bon restaurant. Une ambiance agréable globalement même si tous les serveurs/serveuses ne sont pas tous également aimables. Le steack à la fiorentine/ pommes de terre/ Chianti valaient le coup mais les desserts étaient chers et décevants.

E’ uno dei miei ristoranti preferiti a Firenze Ottima cucina toscana. Ogni portata abbondante e di qualita’ Ambiente tranquillo e rilassante. All’ingresso la cucina aperta offre uno scorcio d’altri tempi. La brace sempre accesa, le polpette di vitello, la polenta col brasato, i vini rossi toscani. Mi e’ tornata fame, quasi quasi ci torno anche stasera.
