I had excellent memories from way back in 2007 and I reconfirmed them 17 years later. Meat cooked to perfection and the artichoke jelly (a winter alternative to the tomato one) is also good. Suggestive location.

I was here a few months ago but I hadn't yet found the time to write a review, but I consider it a duty when you find friendly and welcoming people.
Very pleasant, characteristic environment with the right mix of elegance and familiarity. Excellent food and truly attentive, smiling and helpful staff. I went back again the next day to reconfirm everything. Fair prices. Highly recommended.

Nice restaurant divided into rooms a stone's throw from the suggestive church of San Francesco. Tuscan cuisine with authentic flavors. The gnudi are delicious as are the tomato soup and the side dishes. The cream with cat tongues is excellent. Friendly and kind staff. Honest prices.

A journey through time and taste: La Buca di San Francesco in Arezzo. Crossing the threshold of the Buca di San Francesco is like taking a dive into the past, a journey back in time to the heart of Arezzo. This restaurant, set in a 14th century building, welcomes its guests in a magical atmosphere, among arches, frescoed walls and an aura of history that envelops everything. But it's not just the environment that makes this place special. The cuisine, in fact, is a true triumph of genuine and authentic Tuscan flavours. Our culinary journey began with an explosion of taste: the golden and fried artichokes, crunchy and delicate, and the bruschetta with duck liver pâté, a perfect combination of intense and rustic flavours. Followed by the Cinta Senese, tender and tasty, and a selection of Tuscan cheeses, each with its own history and character. Among the first courses, the tomato soup with artichokes proved to be a real discovery, a dish rich in tradition and flavour, while the tagliatelle with fresh porcini mushrooms won us over with their simplicity and the exceptional quality of the ingredients. The second courses were a succession of emotions: the roast duck with potatoes, cooked to perfection, the ossobuco, tender and tasty, and the roasted wild rabbit, a dish that embodies all the Tuscan culinary tradition. To enhance each course, an excellent wine such as Morellino di Scansano Riserva 2021, a full-bodied and harmonious red that married perfectly with the strong flavors of the cuisine. To conclude on a sweet note, castagnaccio, a typical dessert from Arezzo, and trifle, a timeless classic. The price? Very correct, considering the quality of the food, the service and the unique atmosphere that reigns in this place. La Buca di San Francesco is an experience not to be missed, a place where time seems to have stopped and where you can taste the best of Tuscan cuisine in an environment rich in history and charm.

Locale molto bello. Personale professionale. FINALMENTE un ristorante che ha il menù stagionale e che cambia mensilmente, ma perché nessuno lo fa? 10 punti! Piatti ben cucinati.
L'unico appunto che posso fare è sul pane, presenterei qualcosa di più e magari anche con i nostri grani antichi.
Conto in linea con la location e la qualità. Circa 60 euro a persona compreso bevande.
