What a great meal! Tuscan cuisine at its best and authentic. I went with friends 25 years ago, and hoped it would be just as good many years later. It did not disappoint. The service is friendly. The beef tenderloin was fantastic, as well as the veal scallopine. I was shocked by the lower review numbers on TripAdvisor which made me a bit nervous about going. I’m so glad we did. One of our best meals in Florence. Highly recommend!

A true Florentine classic, not to be missed!
I would highly recommend Buca dell’Orfo, a true Florentine historical spot where locals go. It’s an authentic experience in Florence.
I especially want to highlight the warm welcome and outstanding service from Ghigo, his lovely wife Costanza, and their daughter beautiful Allegra, who run the restaurant and make every guest feel truly pampered.
The food is absolutely delicious from starters to desserts — some of the best pasta I’ve had in Italy. I particularly loved the green lasagna, the tortino, and the aglio e peperoncino pasta with scampo… simply amazing! The escarole and the meats were also excellent, it’s hard to choose a favorite.
A soft spot not to be missed in Florence!

A small gem of a restaurant, just a few tables, an intimate and traditional atmosphere with excellent food.
An almost magical place... the staff makes you feel at home, and a Michelin-starred restaurant at the same time.

Excellent cuisine (osso buco, braised beef cheeks, ribollita... and extraordinary anchovies sanfilippo). Warm and friendly service. The dining room was perhaps a tad noisy, but frankly, a very pleasant experience in this restaurant just steps from the Ponte Vecchio.

Short and sweet: a true Tuscan gem. The wine menu is thoughtful and beautifully curated, with excellent pairings that elevate the meal. The owner—warm, charming, and refreshingly down-to-earth—is the son of the legendary Buca Mario, and it shows in both pride and execution. The meatballs were incredible, and the maltagliati al burro e pecorino was pure comfort done right. Classic, intimate, and absolutely worth returning to. 🍷

Excellent menu, with special mention for the duck in Vino Santo and the artichoke frittata. The owners are very attentive, as is the waiter. A true pleasure, and we'll definitely repeat it.

When you're so amazed by an evening at a restaurant... it's hard to find the right words to describe it. I think this is absolutely one of the best places to dine in Florence today. I hope people go there and eat there, and I hope the wonderful people who run it don't lose even a shred of the love and passion they put into it. IT'S FABULOUS!

Top marks! A cozy dining room filled with warm smiles and great food. The owner(s) greeted us at the door and sat us immediately, and the wait staff immediately brought us water and wine. The food was creative and delicious.
