Buca dell'Orafo In Firenze

Friendly enough service in a really cool venue accompanied by good food. It's set in a basement level location off of a little side street which gives it a real hole-in-the-wall, cozy vibe. My friends and I ordered the ribollita, tortellini, and the osso buco with a meat platter to start (with salame and prosciutto). All of the food was quite good, but my osso buco was a bit cold in middle which hampered my experience. It's a dish that's probably best made over a long period and may involve reheating, but getting cold bits of meat really let down the delicious, tender meat and rich sauce that it came with. Otherwise, an excellent meal.

The food is very good, but a bit expensive

This restaurant was a very pleasant surprise. Located on the banks of the Arno and very close to the Ponte Vecchio, it stands out for being an authentic establishment in the middle of a very touristic area. The food is of high quality. We tried the asparagus with parmesan, which were delicious, and the tomato salad with zucchini, onion and breadcrumbs, which we also loved. For second, we enjoyed the grilled meat and the tagliatelle with funghi, both excellent dishes.

Authentic quaint Italian food with great service and prices!

Excellent. Recommended by a friend and I will recommend along. Given how close it is to Ponte Vecchio I was a bit concerned it may be somewhat of a tourist trap but i was absolutely wrong. Cool setting essentially in a little cellar/cove. Service was great. Prices were reasonable (for Florence). The chef/owner walks in and out interacting with the guests. Food was excellent. I sometimes wonder if I ate at the same place as some of the people that gave horrible reviews. I have been around the world and eaten at some of the best restaurants that exist including many with Michelin stars and this is a great place with genuine local cuisine. My only criticism is that the red wine was too warm, but that is not unexpected in a small place like this in the crazy heat of August in Florence. Highly recommend. Small place so although we were lucky to get a table without reseverations if we had come 30min later we would have been out of luck so book in advance if you can.

Dopo visita agli Uffizi abbiamo pranzato in questo locale lì vicino, conosciuto e frequentato in passato da amici. Unica sala con pochi coperti ma ben curato in stile tipico da osteria, ottima cucina sicuramente non turistica, ottimi crostini toscani, buona panzanella ed una trippa veramente da sogno, la migliore mai mangiata. Oste gentile e simpatico, ci tornerò sicuramente. Consigliato

Booked this cozy restaurant for 6 and was only somewhat impressed. The pastas were good but the steak quality wasn’t over the top and wasn’t worth ordering. It was a bit chewy and the quality was a little less than mid. Overall, I would recommend this place if you only get the pasta.

alright, I think i will never forget this steak. All my money stayed with them, happily. the deep fried mushrooms were unworldly too. but they lack a green salad to follow the meat, really. this rest deserves more than 4.3, way more
