First time in Matera, early October, a rainy day, and we were coming from Liguria.
The owners are wonderful, honest, and welcoming people, and the food is delicious.
The lady who runs the place offered us traditional dishes (which she likes to vary every day). She was very honest, and the portions were generous, so she advised us to order our dishes only after we'd actually finished ours.
The atmosphere was fun and friendly, just like the owners.
The prices were super fair, and the food was traditional.
I highly recommend it.

Giovanna and her husband are a sight to behold. 😍😍😍Their strictly oven-cooked cuisine is excellent 🤤🤤🤤. Their wine? It works miracles (he knows 😂😂😂).
A must-visit every time we go to Matera.

We stopped on for a glass of house wine 3.5 euro on Sunday night. Most places serve dinner after 7:30pm, and we had just finished a tour a 6:30, so we came in from the cold to warm up with wine. We sat in a corner cave and enjoyed the cute place. We will come back for a meal.

The food is delicious, and it's all done in a unique way. It all feels very authentic, and the lady is truly the main character. It's a bit canteen-style, as she calls it, but that's precisely the fun of it. You create your own dish and get a large glass of wine with it. A little Italian is helpful, but not essential. You can also get by with gestures!

We stumbled upon this place by chance. Rustic and welcoming. We felt at home, as if we'd known Carlo and Giovanna forever.

Sembra di cenare in famiglia, i proprietari sono persone squisite!
Abbiamo mangiato: peperoni ripieni, polpette e patate, salciccia e friarielli.
Tre fette di torta veramente SPAZIALI:
-ciccolato, uvetta e pistaccchi
-torta alla ricotta
-Crostata con marmellata di carrube
I dolci uno migliore dell'altro, se cercate una cena tranquilla in ambiente famigliare, questo è il posto giusto!
