I visited La Peppa, in the heart of the Isola neighborhood, and it was a truly pleasant experience. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, perfect for a dinner with friends, although it can be a bit noisy at times—a sign of a lively and popular place.
The strong point is undoubtedly the Apulian cuisine: a wide selection of traditional dishes, especially bombette, offered in various variations, all tasty and well-prepared. You can sense a certain attention to tradition, with authentic flavors and satisfying portions.
There were six of us and we spent about €50 per person, a reasonable price considering the quality, quantity, and setting of the place.

Food was good nice to have variety compared to pasta being the only option. Nice atmosphere to sit out on the street and enjoy an Italian dinner. The meat and cheese charcuterie board is very large and would be plenty for 4 or 5 people. Overall good spot to go for dinner and would recommend!

Lunch with my husband's work colleagues. The restaurant is well-kept and very charming, typical of the cuisine they serve, which is based on Apulian cuisine. We had a mixed antipasto, mixed first courses, and a mixed grill. The portions were generous, well-prepared, and delicious. The homemade desserts (pasticciotti, tetta della monaca, and tiramisu) were truly delicious. Highly recommended, we'll definitely be back. Well done, Luca Alba!

A very charming location, with hints of Salento. Quick and friendly service; we sampled a variety of bombette and typical Salento side dishes.
Knowing the originals very well, they're very similar but not exactly the same; the quality of the ingredients is excellent, however. The variety of bombette is very wide, the nummarieddri are quite large, the potatoes are very good, and the turnip tops are good.
The meatballs in tomato sauce are excellent.
We didn't try the pasta, but the orecchiette looked inviting.
For dessert, the tiramisu is truly exquisite, with a soft and flavorful cream, and the tette delle monache pasta is good, with a very soft cream.
The wine selection is quite varied, although Paololeo isn't always available.
Prices are moderately high.

Last night, we were looking for a late-night restaurant in the Isola area and stopped in front of La Peppa. Apulian cuisine, 90% meat-based, specializes in bombette (a type of pasta) made in a thousand variations. My brother and father had the house mixed platter, my mother had the orecchiette with turnip greens, and I had the cream of fava beans with turnip greens. My dish was good and plentiful (despite it being an appetizer), we all left quite satisfied, and the price was reasonable.

Orecchiette with turnip tops was good, but the portion was small considering the price.
