Borgo del Taglio In Crespellano

We discovered this Agriturismo (farm hotel) randomly on our road trip through Italy and it was true serendipity. Il Borghetto is run by an overwhelmingly kind and generous family who make you feel at home. Located inside a beautifully renovated farmhouse, the accommodation sits among serene orchards and fields and is quite the peaceful getaway. The restaurant serves excellent dishes typical of the Emilia region, homemade and memorable. Make sure to try the famous local Lambrusco, a sparkling red wine. The rooms are rustic with floral motifs and art, clean and comfortable, and the breakfast includes homemade cakes, pastries and a great cappuccino. A wonderful place for families (there’s also a pool in the summer). We hope that we can go back some day.

On our way to the mountains, we made a stop along the way, near Bologna, to break up the journey. Completely by chance we were lucky enough to come across Mohamed's "Il borghetto" farmhouse. We called while we were traveling and he confirmed that we could stay there for the night. As soon as we arrived we were hungry from the long journey and, although the restaurant was not open, Mohamed cooked for us and our 1 and a half year old baby, meeting our needs. We enjoyed everything very much, but above all our little one loved the Bolognese tortellini both with meat sauce and broth, the Bolognese cutlet and the grilled courgettes! The room was large and spotless, the welcoming environment and the location of the farmhouse nestled in the plain on the outskirts of Bologna made our sleep truly relaxing, in the morning we couldn't hear any noise. We want to underline how much Mohamed's passion can be felt in the air and above all in the tastes of his food. The breakfast was excellent with homemade desserts made by him. We were also lucky enough to meet his daughter. In short, a place that makes you feel at home. There are many plans for this beautiful farmhouse surrounded by greenery, with a swimming pool that can be used in summer (unfortunately we visited it in winter). The intention is to return to be able to spend some days in total relaxation! Thanks again for everything and good luck with all your projects!

Warm and human welcome. We had a great time, a great sleep... excellent dinner, rich and delicious breakfast with homemade cakes. The manager attentive to every detail and an excellent conversationalist.

Magnificent experience. We spent just one night at Borghetto as a stop on our longer trip to the North. Well, we were welcomed by the friendliness of the owner, an Egyptian who graduated in Italy and has been in our country for 34 years. The dinner was superb, based on traditional Emilian cuisine and fresh local products. Rich breakfast with cakes cooked by the lady. We highly recommend it.

I stayed in this wonderful farmhouse for a couple of days with my family, it is the perfect place for those looking for a bit of peace, without going too far from Bologna. The spaces are large and well looked after, the cuisine is excellent and the staff is very kind and helpful. I will definitely be back in the summer.

I spent the weekend here with my boyfriend. The breakfast is rich and assorted. The cities of Modena and Bologna are easily reachable.
