Hello, it's a pleasure for me to express my appreciation towards the Chef Vincenzo Pepe, who was able to win me over with his unquestionable mastery and his elegant approach to gastronomy. Communication with the customer is impeccable, a sign of professionalism that is not limited to the kitchen, but permeates every aspect of the gastronomic experience.
The dishes offered are a true homage to refinement, designed to satisfy the most demanding palates. The quality of the raw materials, always at the top, is the foundation of every preparation, in particular the raw seafood dishes and the appetizers, which represent a symphony of freshness and delicacy.
The level of excellence also extends to cleanliness and order, which reflect the great commitment and care with which the restaurant is managed. My rating is an 8, with the most sincere compliments for the work done and the constant pursuit of excellence.

One of those places where you perceive that behind the processing of food there is passion in the research and selection of raw materials, so there is no need to specify that I have always eaten well despite having celiac disease. A welcoming place where the customer is welcomed and where the generous portions never disappoint!

We chose Alterego to celebrate our daughter's baptism. Excellent, quality food, attention to detail and refined flavours. We also tasted the seafood cured meats created by chef Vincenzo. Friendly dining room staff, prepared and available for any type of request. Highly recommended restaurant

Very refined and elegant location. Fresh raw fish dishes with a tenderness and seafood flavor that I had never tried before. The first courses are very particular because they are combined with local products. Compliments to the chef and his collaborators.

We were staying in nearby Gravina in Puglia with relatives who live there and know about all the good spots. They took us here several times during our visit and - people, we have eaten good food. But this was off the charts. Super fresh and thoughtful preparations with the freshest seafood I have ever had in my life (I see you Japan, Boston and San Fran!), fabulous everything. This isn't one of those places that you go to for that one dish - everything that came out of the kitchen was a complete banger. And their wine list is great, too. Friendly staff, frequented by locals Who Know (I was the only non-local in the joint). This place is super popular on the weekends so for best results book a week day/night visit. And do yourself a favor and reserve plenty of time to enjoy not just the meal, but your company and the moment. A memorable experience, for sure!

Good restaurant where you can eat fish but we expected more regarding the quality of the fish (not very tasty) and also in the choice of the first courses offered. Good starters, especially the tuna; the first course was disappointing (water and earth: little prawn tartare and a lot of pesto). Good frying and excellent amberjack slice but minimal quantity.
Little choice and particularity in the desserts, we took a dessert made by them but too sweet. Price quality normal.
Excellent and kind staff.
Quality and menu need improvement, we have eaten in better places with real fish and really tasty.

A business dinner with friends. We enjoyed raw and cooked fish as an appetizer. The oysters, red prawns and scampi are excellent. The risotto is good as are the wines. The only flaw was the service was a little slow but it went well with company

We stopped for a quick lunch on the way down to Matera. What can I say... Excellent quality of food, well-kept spaces and impeccable service. The staff were friendly and welcoming even though there were 13 of us and we showed up without booking at the last moment. Truly a wonderful surprise, excellent value for money
