Bistrò PIQUI In Lucca

Great wine, the food is nice especially in hot weather BUT it is all overpriced without getting much in return. The waiting staff is demotivated, you get used serving mats and cutlery and in stead of getting soda in a bottle from the fridge, it was served from a big bottle which has been opened for a few days.

Excellent quality of food combined with the professionalism and kindness of the staff.

A truly ideal place for a tourist to refresh themselves. When simplicity is an added value. Carefully selected and quality ingredients and a lot of courtesy from all the staff. I vote ten.

We arrived at this place by chance, while we were walking in the centre, we had an excellent breakfast with a perfectly made cappuccino and fragrant croissants enriched with delicious homemade jams. Since then, it has been a regular stop to taste the homemade cakes and excellent crostini. Then we were totally captivated by the panzanella! I recommend it to you! Some wasted potential. When you come in you are hardly greeted, even though there are 4 people (owning family?) behind the counter. The service is relatively attentive, but very unemotional. Almost no words are exchanged between each other. Overall, this creates a not-so-comfortable atmosphere and you don't really feel welcome, even though the bistro is very nice and of high quality. Although all the tables inside were free, the two of us were not allowed to sit at the table for 4 that we would have liked - but the owner (?) often sat at it alone :-) For the first time in Italy we were not offered water for the dog (when it was 32° outside). We had drinks and bruschetta each - it wasn't bad. We didn't need any cutlery and there was no bread or anything similar in advance, but Coperto was still charged. Generally a little more expensive compared to other locations.

The best limoncello spritz in Lucca

Mi sono fermata a pranzo con un'amica e abbiamo chiesto una panzanella, considerato che faceva caldissimo e non volevamo nulla di caldo: la proprietaria ce l'ha fatta espressa, con i pomodori e il basilico del suo orto e il pane fresco... il tutto accompagnato da una bella birra fresca. Una meraviglia inaspettata (la mia amica non l'aveva mai assaggiata e ne è rimasta estasiata), porzione abbondante, gusto indescrivibile, prezzo più che adeguato, gentilezza e allegre chiacchiere che fanno già metà dell'esperienza positiva.... insomma, mi sono segnata il nome e quando tornerò a Lucca certamente sarà tappa fissa!!!

Questo locale nel centro storico di Lucca ha ha un ‘atmosfera allegra ed un cibo semplice,ma ben cucinato,oltre alla cortesia dello staff.
