Cortona and the Birrificio Cortonese restaurant are always on our list for a vacation in Tuscany. The food and house wine are highly recommended! Add to that the friendliness of the staff and owners. A definite recommendation when visiting the beautiful town of Cortona! 😃👍

Interesting but basic platter. When we read "cold cuts and cheese," we didn't expect two slices of each, but only a tiny slice of pecorino. It's consistent, but not generous. The burger is good. The tuna salad doesn't match the photo on the starter menu, but it's interesting (there are also lampascioni and dried tomatoes, perhaps it would be worth specifying them on the menu).

I was disappointed with my stinco di maiale which I expected to arrive as tender meat on the bone. Instead, it arrived carved into rather dry and chewy slices on a plate with the bone to one side. I wondered if this was an attempt to rescue a piece of meat that was cooked earlier in the day.

Lovely gem of a restaurant of the beaten path. We chose to eat insidef as cooler. My husband said his Diavola Affimicato pizza was best he had in Italy. My Pici al ragu D’Anstra (with duck sauce) was perfect size and flavored. Bravo! Thank you

Well, moreover, but dishonest managers. The daily menu at 15 euros, according to the person at reception (an old gentleman), indicated on the outside blackboard main course and dessert (tiramisu). But when it came to paying I had to pay 6 euros in addition to the 30 euros for the 2 courses, for a small tiramisu (it was nevertheless very good) normally intended for two, and served on a ridiculously small plate. I add that the main course was lukewarm. Another tourist trap like the whole city it seems to me.

While visiting Cortona, we happened to pass by the brewery and were attracted by the host Massimo, a wonderful person, who gave us directions on the beauties to visit.
Lunch at the outside tables to enjoy the excellent lager of their own production, a mixed platter and "fritti non fritti" but above all a delicious dish of the day: wild boar cacciatore with beans in oil.
Attentive and fast service, and the presence of Massimo for a pleasant chat in addition to his culinary advice.
Recommended for those who like to "expand" time and enjoy a bit of peace with taste.
