We spontaneously got a spot for dinner, where we had previously been turned away at other restaurants because they were fully booked. Very friendly staff, the restaurant is small but nice. The food is tasty and freshly prepared. The drinks selection is extensive, with something for everyone. All in all, a very nice restaurant with good value for money.

Today my husband and I had lunch at Birrificio Cortona and were in awe at how amazing it was. The food was cooked and seasoned to perfection. I had half a roasted chicken with some greens and roasted potatoes and a glass of white wine and left not a morsel on my plate. My husband had the wild boar stew and he also devoured it and said it was amazing. The wines that the server/hostess brought us were also perfect with our meals and my husband had a beer first and said it was the best he’s had since we have been in Italy. After our delicious meal we shared a delicious brownie and ice cream covered in a chocolate sauce. The chef also gave us a complimentary glass of their homemade orange cello.. again simply delicious. Our server and the chef were both very welcoming and very kind. We would definitely recommend and hope to come back one day.

We stumbled upon Birrificio Cortonese by chance and only later saw the glowing reviews that confirm it. We ate a 200g Chianina burger sandwich with a generous side dish, and we also enjoyed some delicious mushroom pici... the chef and staff were truly attentive and kind. I think we'll be back tonight for a craft beer and some other delicious food. This is the result of hard work and dedication! Truly excellent.

A typical Cortona restaurant with truly excellent local dishes. Very kind and friendly staff. I recommend booking as there aren't many seats. The pork shank and wild boar cacciatore were truly sublime. The quality and price are fair.

12/10/2025: We went for lunch today. The chef and the person who served us were extremely kind. We had two calamaratas, a burrata ravioli, a rice gnudo, a mussel pepper dish, and a hamburger. The dishes were truly delicious and beautifully presented. The chef also gave us a truly special dessert: an extra portion of ravioli for my daughter, who was still hungry. He also brought my wife a sample of calamarata, as he put it, "so she wouldn't go away craving it." It's rare to find such quality and kindness toward customers as the charming chef Stefano showed us. We had a good laugh over the combination of local cuisine and refined food, which is truly rare. The price was more than fair. When and if we're in the area, we'll definitely be back.

L'Osteria in Aboca

10/11/2025: Last Sunday, I went to this restaurant in Aboca for lunch with my friends after a trek. A well-kept place, young staff, and a nice menu. Excellent service from two attractive young women. If I may offer a piece of advice, in such a large, rustic, and beautiful room, installing an electric heater is not only pointless, but also an eyesore—a real shame. You'd need to invest a bit of money into a nice wood-burning stove, perhaps a cast iron one with copper pipes. Besides making the room much more beautiful and welcoming, it would also heat the very cold environment for those sitting down to eat. That said, I'd recommend this place, but not in the winter.
29/09/2025: We had a really good time. The staff was very kind and professional. The food was excellent and beautifully presented. Definitely recommended.
