Half-hidden and sheltered from standardizing trends, Antica Trattoria Breve Respiro is one of those rare places that deserves to remain exactly as it is: frozen in time, immune to modernizing renovations. Crossing the threshold means entering an atmosphere of times gone by, punctuated by authentic details: from the dresser with its large period mirror to the wine rack displaying historic bitters and grappas, to that blackboard on the wall that reads "UNTIL THE END," almost a manifesto of intent. Sara and Marco run the place, perfectly in tune. In the dining room, she welcomes you with warmth, friendliness, and a great sense of hospitality; in the kitchen, he offers simple, down-to-earth traditional local dishes, cooked with sincere dedication. A business lunch is a reassuring and rare experience, offered at an absolutely fair price. A place that, if it didn't already exist, would have to be invented. It should be preserved as it is.
