We were a group of 4 and had an amazing experience at Bentoteca Milano. The food was amazing, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was great. Would highly recommend to anyone.

We went for dinner and tried the omakase menu. The service was excellent, but the atmosphere was a bit noisy; we sat at standard tables so we could easily get along. The chef's offerings brought European, especially French, influences to Japanese cuisine. The most memorable dish was definitely the wagyu soup topped with a pâte feuilletée, which is usually served with French onion soup. The menu was enjoyable, although both my partner and I found it a bit heavy, due to the rich, French-influenced broths and sauces. We enjoyed the exploration, but the flavors weren't always to our liking, perhaps expecting something lighter after trying other omakase in the past. The seasonal vegetable salad deserves a special mention, as it lightened up the menu between courses. I would return to try some of the dishes I saw arriving at the adjacent tables, such as the shank, bento, or tongue sando. It's a shame they didn't let us try their Basque cheesecake, but that's part of the omakase experience. Great respect for the chef and his work.

Always a good experience. I am happy that the chef seems to have gone back a little to his “michelin starred” origins, I prefer this to the “bistrot spirit” that he tried a couple of years ago. Exquisite tasting menu, for a competitive 90 Euro price. Good service. Impressed by the puff-pastry soup and by the salad - super lovely. The 5 variations on tuna are of course superb. The japanese sandwich is a lovely surprise. Yes, a really good experience.

Bentoteca used to be “the” restaurant for me and my ex boy and now even if he is taking someone else there you know what it is fine because Bentoteca remains delicous. Since before covid theory they yolk consistencies and textures such as that of marinated cow heart and tuna chiai (in picture), or that of bone marrow and fermented shrimps, as a strong part of their process. I also really appreciate the use of every part of the tuna in many cuts, I had the tuna head with giardiniera is really a sweet treat. The price is Milanese price. It is a satisfaction to go eat there. This is the place I suggest to friends but also where I go when I want to gift myself a dinner. Thank you!

The food quality is high, the atmosphere, service, and dishes are average. A nice concept, but many things could be improved.

We had a reservation at 9:30 PM and arrived promptly, but our table wasn't ready. We were asked to wait in the chaotic lobby and weren't seated until about 25 minutes later.
The food was excellent, nothing to complain about the cuisine.
Unfortunately, however, the welcome and management of the dining room didn't live up to the standard of the restaurant, nor the bill of approximately €140 per person. The dining room manager seemed distressed, and there wasn't even a formal apology for the inconvenience, nor even the slightest gesture of courtesy, despite a final bill of €546.
Overall, good food, but service and customer service could be improved.
We probably won't be returning.

Our dinner at Bentoteca was a culinary experience of the highest caliber. The Omakaze Tasting Menu guided us through a journey of dishes of impeccable technique and quality. Special praise goes to the dining room team and sommelier for their professionalism and expertise.
🍷 Perfect Pairing: Le Petit Chemin
The experience was enhanced by the choice of wine, an excellent "Le Petit Chemin" by Benoît Courault, a wine whose freshness and structure divinely complemented the complexity of the dishes.
🍣 The Perfect Start: Raw Tuna, Raw Fusion, and Fabulous Nigiri
The Omakaze got off to a flying start with the raw fish dishes:
Amazing Raw Tuna: We tasted an exceptional selection of cuts, including Otoro, Chutoro, and Akami, as well as luxurious tuna served in the oyster shell with generous amounts of Trout Roe (Ikura).
Raw Tuna with Edible Flowers: A dish of great elegance: thin slices of raw tuna nestled in a fragrant ponzu and oil sauce, finished with chopped herbs and delicate purple edible flowers that added a touch of acidity and color.
Fabulous Nigiri: The subsequent nigiri were simply perfect, with masterfully executed rice and sublime fish.
Giardiniera with Tuna: The crunchy and colorful Giardiniera vegetables were elegantly complemented by tuna, a fusion touch that beautifully balanced the palate.
🔥 Hot and Innovative Dishes
Turbot and Veal Heart: Among the highlights, the perfectly cooked Turbot was accompanied by a delicious seaweed sauce. Equally memorable were the Veal Heart skewers, enhanced by a dash of fresh wasabi, a surprising and successful combination.
🍵 Finishing with a flourish
Wagyu Soup in Katsusando: The final course was an innovative and luxurious conclusion: the rich Wagyu Soup served in a soft Shokupan, encased in a crispy breading. A true masterpiece!
La Bentoteca is a must-see experience for those seeking innovation and absolute quality in Milan. We'll be back!

The food was excellent, the food was good but nothing exceptional, and it was overpriced.
The waiters were kind and helpful, but there was a serious lack of customer service at the end of the dinner. After spending €340 on a tasting menu for two, including wine (gift card already paid for), we were asked if we wanted to finish the dinner with a bitter or digestif. We agreed, and were brought a yuzu sake, so good I had to look for it online: €30 a bottle. For two glasses, they charged us €20. Aside from the price, which is a clear mockery, we thought it was free/included after a dinner like that. We finished with a €20 receipt in hand and the cashier inviting us to get our jackets from the closet ourselves… there's a Michelin-starred/guide-like attitude, but it's not reflected in the facts.

Ottimi!
Ambiente intimo e raffinato. Consiglio vivamente per chi vuole sperimentare.
